Job Description

AbbVie is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Sr. Campus Recruiter (6-month contract) to join our team and play a vital role in recruiting and building the leaders of tomorrow. As the Sr. Campus Recruiter, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle recruitment of graduate students joining AbbVie's Programs, including the Internship, Fellowship, Postdoc and Early Talent development and full-time programs within the R&D and Operations functions. In addition, you will collaborate with select universities and organizations to position AbbVie as an employer of choice for early talent opportunities. This role will operate within AbbVie's hybrid Ways We Work model, with three days per week in the office located in Lake County, IL. In addition, the role will require 30% domestic travel to partner universities during peak recruiting season Aug – Oct.  

Responsibilities:

  • Execute end-to-end campus recruitment (i.e., preparation, sourcing, screening, selecting, hiring, and onboarding) for key graduate programs within R&D and Operations, including the Internship, Fellowship, Postdoc and Early Talent Development and full-time programs
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Early Talent Pipeline, Operations & R&D Program Managers, and the business to develop and implement campus recruiting strategies that align with hiring goals and attract the right talent for R&D and Operations
  • Foster strong relationships with partner university staff and student organizations to enhance AbbVie's employment brand at targeted universities and organizations, in line with enterprise and functional strategies
  • Work closely with the business to plan, coordinate, train, and lead all logistical aspects of on-campus and virtual recruiting efforts, such as information sessions, class presentations, career fairs, career center events, tabling, student organization events, and interview days
  • Act as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment and interviewing process, providing timely updates, answering questions, extending offers, scheduling start dates, and ensuring effective follow-up and engagement
  • Utilize talent acquisition and recruitment software, including applicant tracking systems (ATS), candidate relationship management tools (CRM), virtual sourcing platforms, events management tools, and research & benchmarking tools, to streamline and optimize the recruitment cycle
  • Develop and foster peer relationships within the university recruitment space, leveraging data, benchmarking, and market intelligence to educate the business on the early talent landscape
  • Facilitate internal recruiting update meetings with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 3 - 5 years of related recruitment experience required; campus recruitment experience preferred
  • Experience recruiting for R&D and Operations/Manufacturing functions preferred
  • Proficiency in using talent acquisition recruiting and sourcing systems, such as SmartRecruiters, Workday, Yello, Zoom, Handshake, Symplicity, etc.  
  • Demonstrated sourcing skills in LinkedIn or other sourcing platforms, with a proven ability to identify, attract, and engage top talent through various channels and networks
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Teams, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence effectively at all levels of the organization and tailor messaging to varied audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects within a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely completion within budget and to the satisfaction of stakeholders
  • Proven track record of collaborative teamwork, adaptability, innovation, proactivity, and high ethical standards
  • Ability to travel up to 30% domestically to core university partners during peak campus recruitment season (Aug – Oct)
  • Ability to work within AbbVie's hybrid Ways We Work model, with three days per week in the office located in Lake County, IL
