The Senior Specialist, Business Enablement, Value Generation & Optimization, plays a meaningful role in advancing procurement and operational excellence across AbbVie's Operations network. Working in close partnership with the Manager, Business Enablement, Value Generation & Optimization, this role supports the identification, coordination, and execution of cross-site value generation and harmonization initiatives, with a direct contribution to efficiency, process improvement, and sustainable P&L impact.
This position is well suited for a motivated, analytically grounded professional who is eager to develop depth in business enablement, procurement strategy support, and cross-functional collaboration. The Senior Specialist will take ownership of analytical workstreams, project tracking, and stakeholder engagement activities, while progressively building the strategic and leadership capabilities necessary for broader accountability. This role is designed to serve as a structured developmental pathway toward the Manager, Business Enablement, Value Generation & Optimization role.
Responsibilities:
Support the execution of cross-site value generation and harmonization initiatives.
Gather data to support analysis of spend, process, and operational data analysis to surface opportunities for cost avoidance, efficiency improvement, and business performance enhancement across sites.
Assist in the development and preparation of business cases, opportunity assessments, and recommendations to support decision-making by the leadership.
Coordinate and track progress of key initiatives, monitoring milestones, benefits realization, risks, and dependencies, and communicating status updates to leadership and site-level stakeholders.
Support tail spend optimization efforts through data gathering, opportunity sizing, solution coordination, and tracking of implementation outcomes.
Contribute to the implementation and expansion of catalog strategies by facilitating adoption activities, identifying gaps, and supporting corrective action planning.
Support change management activities by coordinating communications, training logistics, and adoption tracking to enable successful implementation of new processes, tools, and ways of working.
Identify and document process improvement and standardization opportunities, contributing to the development of scalable and repeatable operational practices.
Create and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, and program documentation to ensure accurate, timely visibility into initiative progress and value delivery.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and results orientation across the procurement and operations network.
Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent work experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in procurement, operations, supply chain, business enablement, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated ability to manage project coordination activities and support cross-functional initiatives to deliver measurable outcomes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize data and present actionable insights.
Experience with spend analysis, process improvement, or category management support preferred.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and build credibility with stakeholders across a matrixed organization.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate with professionalism and a high degree of attention to detail.
Experience supporting or participating in change management and implementation activities is a plus.
Experience in Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, Smartsheet, SharePoint

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
