Job Description

The Senior Manager within the Diversity & Patient Inclusion team is responsible for driving the Diversity Action Plans, a framework required by the FDA for all clinical studies (PhIII) to  improve clinical trial diversity. With this role, you will be an important member of the team that will be driving change in the internal culture, behaviors, and ways of working to strengthen our understanding of disease disparities and the effects on clinical trial populations. This role will report into the Associate Director, Diversity & Patient Inclusion.  

Responsobilties:

  • Drive the strategic implementation of the action plan for AbbVie’s Clinical Trial Diversity approach across the portfolio  

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop process improvements to the clinical trial lifecycle to increase physician and patient diverse participation 

  • Influence leaders and peers to change internal behaviors to strengthen our understanding of disease disparities and the effects on diverse populations 

  • Create operational best practices that can be shared within and outside of the clinical teams 

  • Work with key stakeholders to develop and implement indication level strategies to increase diverse representation in clinical trials 

  • Manage key themes and best practices from external partner engagement activities to broaden base knowledge about clinical research in underrepresented communities and diverse investigators  

  • Develop impact strategy to drive metrics reporting for clinical trial diversity and inclusion strategies to demonstrate changes from baseline data  

  • Manage alignment between the EED&I program and AbbVie’s business strategy 

  • Serve as an SME on clinical trial diversity  


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field required, Advanced degree is desirable. 

  • Minimum of 6-8 years of pharma-related/clinical research experience or equivalent 

  • 6-8 years of study or project management  

  • Advanced working knowledge of ICH and GCP guidelines required. 

  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements, resourceful, and creative. 

  • Excellent collaborator and articulate communicator – Manages relationships across geographic locations and gains cross functional alignment. 

  • Knows how to translate a plan into a strategic action plan with associated KPIs to measure impact  

  • Strong medical writing preferred 

This a remote opportunity that can be anywhere in the US.
