Finance Shared Services (FSS) organization was established as one of the key elements of new operating model for AbbVie to provide accurate financial accounting and reporting for all affiliates and business units. The FSS center for EMEA region is based in Krakow, Poland and is serving as a chief accounting and controllership function for all affiliates and manufacturing plants in the region, providing support in US GAAP accounting, tax and statutory compliance and reporting and in selected FP&A and order to cash processes. The center was established in 2013.
Role purpose:
Automation Expert will focus on building scalable AI and automation solutions to streamline manual processes, drive business process re-engineering, and implement cutting-edge automation solutions across the FSS Organization. The Automation Expert will leverage process mining tools, advanced automation technologies, and AI-driven approaches to optimize workflows, enhance compliance, and support efficient business operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify automation opportunities, analyze existing processes, document proposed solutions and implement.
- Work with business partners to identify bottlenecks and AI/Automation opportunities to help resolve inefficiencies
- Work on AI/Automation use cases assessments, requirements collection and solution architecture
- Focus on building scalable AI and Automation solutions and rapid prototyping and proof-of-concepts operationalization
- Design, implement, and maintain automated workflows
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored automation solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce error risk.
- Develop and deploy AI-driven automations (e.g., chatbots and others) to support intelligent process improvement and data-driven decision making.
- Monitor, test, and refine automated processes, maintaining alignment with business goals and regulatory compliance.
- Train team members and end-users on newly implemented AI and automation tools and updated workflows.
- Stay ahead of emerging automation trends, best practices, and applicable technologies to continually improve FSS operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in business process automation, process mining, or workflow optimization roles.
- Proficient in automation platforms
- Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to align technology and AI projects with business processes.
- Track record in utilizing Python (required), Power Automate, Power BI, and other automation tools.
- Knowledgeable in AI-driven automation concepts/platforms, architecture, process improvement frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to business challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to document, design, and deliver process automation solutions in a finance or shared services environment.
- Effective communicator able to train and support users on new automation technologies.
- Innovative thinker with a passion for process optimization and technology.
- Ability to manage simultaneous automation projects and prioritize effectively.
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with experience working across business, IT, and compliance teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- English required; other languages an asset.
- Self-motivated, quick learner, adaptable to change and new automation tools.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this roleat the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on manyfactors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.

Pay Range: $
84500 - 162000 USD
Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
