As a Principal Enterprise Data Engineer in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Planning, building and running enterprise class information management solutions across a variety of technologies (e.g. big data, master data, data profiling, batch processing, and data indexing technologies, )
- Establishing advance search solutions that include RAG assisted GenAI search, in-line ontology filtering, synonym, inference and faceted searching
- Ensuring appropriate security and compliance policies are followed for information access and dissemination
- Defining and applying information quality and consistency business rules throughout the data processing lifecycle
- Collaborating with information providers to ensure quality data updates are processed in a timely fashion
- Enforcing and expanding use of AbbVie Common Data Model and industry standard information descriptions (ontologies, taxonomies, vocabularies, lexicons, dictionaries, thesaurus, glossaries etc.)
- Managing the information portal and its customer-facing resources (data catalog, data portal, etc.)
Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree with 8 years experience; Master's Degree with 7 years experience; PhD with 3 years experience
- Experience in a several data processing roles such as database developer/administrator, ETL developer, data analyst, BI analytics developer, and/or solution developer of contextual search applications
- Experience with Informatica tools (PowerCenter, Big Data Management, Master Data Management), Cloudera CDH and ecosystem tools (SOLR, Spark, Impala, Hive, Hue, etc…), MarkLogic, Elastic, Neo4j, Neptune and other NoSQL data tools, SAS Analytics, python, R and Amazon Web Services preferred.
- Agile methodologies, scrum and Kanban frameworks experience
- New solution prototyping

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
