The National Business Manager, Gastroenterology Account Managers (GAMs) role will work within cross functional teams made of participants from Training, Medical/ Clinical experts, Marketing, Sales Management, Medical, Regulatory, Legal, MHC, other AbbVie Groups, and external vendor partners to support the delivery of business objectives for the GAM organization. They must be confident and comfortable with cross-functional team structure and adapt at collaboration /influence management with Sr. GAM Management. Contribute to strategic and tactical development of support initiatives for the Gastro Account Manager Team.
Responsibilities
- Assess monthly National, Regional, and Local key GAM performance trends. Propose strategic initiatives to identify business opportunities, field best practices and create initiatives to improve execution and performance.
- Work with Sales Operations/FFE and MABI to develop, compile and communicate monthly franchise execution and performance reports (Account targeting and segmentation, launch execution, FFE execution priorities, product communications, etc.).
- Gather, organize, and communicate monthly Quality and Initiative reports, to assist in development and communication of key performance reports and plans. Partner with the GAM trainer to coordinate with Marketing and GAM SR. Managers to develop and implement training initiatives to clarify and integrate marketing strategies into GAM Training, both at IFTC and scheduled sales meetings throughout the year with the purpose of enhancing In-field execution and effectiveness.
- Coordinate and build GAM leadership presentations for clear and timely field touchpoints (ex: Quarterly updates, National and Regional meetings, and internal senior leadership reviews)
- Develop, implement, and execute the franchise GAM communication plan, compiling GAM leadership, marketing, and CA&O feedback to create an informative and functional cadence for the team
- Responsible for the coordination and management of GAM support functions, including GAM analytics, GAM diagnostics, Quality and Initiative monthly reports, strategic strategy, and field communications.
- Work cross-functionally with NSM peers, Sales Management, Marketing, Training, and various AbbVie sales support organizations to create, implement and optimize all necessary field initiatives.
A hybrid schedule based in AbbVie's Mettawa, IL office is strongly preferred. Remote work may be considered for candidates who are not local.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of successful sales experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry in progressive commercial leadership roles.
- Franchise sales experience strongly preferred, including launch experience.
- Proficiency in excel and strong analytical skills required.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- U.S. Commercial experience required with strong ability to work in a matrixed environment
- Demonstrated ability to influence and manage across a complex set of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong executive presence and leadership skills.
- Effective communication and negotiating skills required. Working knowledge of the market, disease states and products.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this postingbased on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more orless than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
