Job Description

The Medical Therapeutical Area Lead will lead the Hematology and Oncology Medical Affairs teams for the Affiliate. As Medical Therapeutical Area Lead Oncology & Hematology, you will report to the Affiliate Medical Director and will be responsible for driving the Medical strategy in Oncology and Hematology while integrating it into Brand plans. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Lead the Brand-aligned Medical team and ensure compliance to corporate requirements and processes on Medical activities.
  • Provide strategic and tactical medical output as to the relevant therapeutic area and products and act on behalf of the Medical Director as appropriate.
  • Supervise the initiation, conduct and analysis of the results of scientific programs and Clinical Education activities.
  • Supervise and develop AbbVie's Onco/Hemato Medical team reporting to you: Medical Managers, Medical advisors, MSLs and pipeline MSLs ensuring a successful talent pipeline for future leaders in Poland and abroad.
  • Develop consolidated budgets planning for Medical activities and monitor the appropriate resources utilization.
  • Explore with other Affiliates opportunities for international collaborative initiatives and share local best practices
  • Act as Polish medical team ambassador in the international environment
  •  Contribute to the design and improvement of AbbVie Poland Medical Department systems and processes (e.g. SOPs and Guidelines) with the aim of ensuring best practice as well as compliance to all applicable regulations and Company procedures.
  • Contributes to the medical KPIs identifications and measurement. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical industry working in similar positions ideally within Oncology and Hematology therapeutic areas.
  • Medical (preferred) or equivalent academic and/or professional Scientific background.
  • Excellent ability to plan, transform and execute business vision into feasible and realistic actions
  • Experience working in a complex matrix organization at national and international level.
  • Significant experience in team and individual leading, managing and coaching and in developing talents in a demanding and performance driven environment
  • Knowledge of financial principles and processes is a nice to have
  • Previous experience in product launches is a nice to have.
  • Familiarity with GCP (good clinical practice) and (SOP) standard operation procedures.
  • Previous experience within an in-field, stakeholder/customer facing role would be ideal.
  • Knowledge of concepts of Epidemiology and HEOR.
  • Experience with Product/Indication Approval Processes, as well as Publication Processes.
  • Empathy, enthusiasm, solution oriented mindset, negotiation skills and innovative attitude will be appreciated
  • Fluent in English and Polish.
