Scientific Expertise: Scientific Information Management and Dissemination
- Act as scientific leader in defined therapeutic areas of key importance for the affiliate
- Identify and liaise with outside experts and opinion leaders: Regular meetings with KOLs and Influence groups to build trust/relationship, share data, request support and provide support including Publications, Slide sets, selection and training of external speakers, local Medical Advisory Board Meetings
- Keep current with scientific and medical advances in the defined therapeutic areas
- Collaborate with Information Sciences/Communications Services Department to provide medical information to internal and external customers
- Deliver medical knowledge (disease, product, competitors) lectures and trainings to marketing and sales
Brand Team’s support for key affiliate therapeutic
- Act as a strategic consultant for the Brand Team Leader(s) and participate at Brand Team Meetings
- Provide medical perspective and inputs to brand strategy/plans
- Collaborate with Product Manager(s) on planning and preparation of medical conferences, symposia, advisory board meetings, and other speaker engagements – inputs for scientific content, slide set preparation, networking with Opinion leaders
- Monitor the competitor’s publications, scientific, and promotional activities
- Catch market trends/therapy trends; other developments in the specific therapeutic area
- Ensure that promotional materials are consistent with company’s strategy and in accordance with most up to date medical knowledge
- Medical review and approval of promotional materials or other documents that are developed by marketing if medical claims and/or dosing are mentioned or company’s name is quoted
Clinical research
- Identify and approve qualified sites for clinical studies in cooperation with Affiliate Medical Manager/Director, International Medical Development and ICFO
- Support the Affiliate clinical research department in the management of clinical studies as appropriate (e.g. identify potential investigators/sites, conducting feasibility surveys, medical education of sites)
- Collection of the documents of non-interventional studies for submission for approval of competent authorities together with the Medical Director
- Support the Medical Department within Bulgaria with responsibility for collaboration with all applicable departments / functions within the Affiliate and stakeholders in the respective therapeutic area
- Comply with Company policies and procedures to meet statutory, quality and business requirements within the overall strategy and objectives for AbbVie Bulgaria
- Prepare a plan of PMOS, market researches and epidemiological surveys in the relevant therapeutic area on annual basis in cooperation with Brand Team and Medical Manager/Director in the decision process
- Communicate with all people involved in approval of PMOSs, market researches and epidemiological surveys
- Develop clinical protocol for PMOS in line with product strategy, prepare relevant PMOS documents, Investigator Meeting training material, organize and run Investigator Meeting
- Visit and monitor sites participated in non-interventional studies (NIS), based on communication and cooperation with Medical Manager/Director
- Prepare enrollment report and complete final reports of the projects (NIS) and send them for review to the Medical Manager/Director.
- Manage the budget relating to approved PMOS, market researches and epidemiological surveys projects.
- University degree in Medicine, Pharmacology or Natural Sciences
- Good computer skills
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- High professional qualification desirable, but not essential

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
