We have an opportunity for a Manager, Pharmacy Operations & Advocacy to join our Pharmacy Partnership & Strategy team for an 18-month term. In alignment with our corporate strategies, the Manager, Pharmacy Operations & Advocacy is responsible for developing and managing relations with important pharmacy stakeholders in Canada to support the Pharmacy Strategy & Market Access team. This position is based in either Quebec (Saint-Laurent) or Ontario (Markham).
Key responsibilities:
Manager, Pharmacy Operations & Advocacy is the Pharmacy Profession subject matter expert at AbbVie. As part of the Pharmacy Partnership & Strategy team, the individual will play a key role in the development and deployment of initiatives impacting pharmacists across all departments. This individual will collaborate closely with Market Access and other cross functional groups to achieve business objectives.
- Contribute to the growth of the business, as well as the strategic direction of the Pharmacy Partnership & Strategy team by:
- Acting as an SME for pharmacy and collaborate across the team to deliver on both team & department objectives
- Acting as the main point of contact with pharmacy associations to gather insights & identify how we can collaborate with their members to advance our impact in pharmacy
- Identify & monitoring the changing rights of pharmacists across Canada (prescribing rights, therapeutic substitution, and expanded scope) as well as the opportunities for our brands and the therapeutic areas we serve
- Provide guidance and recommendations at all levels of the organization concerning the impact and feasibility of pharmacy dedicated initiatives
- As a member of several brand teams, identify and execute on pharmacy opportunities that are aligned with the strategic priorities of the brand teams
- Organize and/or lead external discussions, initiatives, and communications with pharmacy HCPs in collaboration with commercial & market access
- Coordination & execution of pharmacy advisory board meetings for insight gathering
- Identify and evaluate the best options on how to connect & communicate with pharmacists depending on business needs
- Partner with the Market Access Team to develop strategies to address government and/or payer policy changes as it relates to pharmacy
- Manage & lead relationships with Pharmacist KOLs across Canada
- Establish & build connections with university pharmacy faculty in collaboration with the market access team
- Lead / support pharmacy & pharmacist initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional colleagues (Health Education, Corporate Affairs, & Commercial)
- Coordination & Support of RFPs
- Work with third party & internal colleagues to ensure timely response & submission of RFPs
- Identify opportunities in hospital pharmacy space (as required)
Education / Experience required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in science or another related field. Being a Registered Pharmacist would be considered a great asset.
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian Healthcare system is required
- Previous experience in relevant roles requiring a comprehensive understanding of both the pharmaceutical industry & pharmacy landscape in Canada (minimum of five to eight years)
- Proven track record in pharmacy advocacy, stakeholder management & pharmacy operations.
Essential skills and abilities:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
- Ability to think strategically in a dynamic and changing landscape
- Strong organizational and project management skills to balance multiple projects and priorities
- Cross-functional leadership skills and team player; able to lead without direct authority
- Strong communication skills both oral and written
- Strong strategic and influencing skills
- Travel required about 20 % of the time.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.

Pay Range: $
109000 - 159000 CAD
Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
