The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for driving market access, portfolio growth, and sustainable business performance across all AbbVie Business Units in Peru, including Oncology, Immunology and established brands.
The role combines strategic leadership and operational execution, ensuring effective engagement with key payors, healthcare providers, and institutional customers, while acting as the primary interface with the local distributor.
The KAM brings a holistic view of the Peruvian healthcare system—both public and private— integrating access dynamics, funding mechanisms, and institutional decision-making processes to translate portfolio strategies into effective execution, always in full compliance with AbbVie’s Code of Conduct and local regulations.
Responsibilities:
Portfolio Strategy & Account Leadership:
- Develop and execute integrated, portfolio-based account plans across Oncology, Immunology and establish brands.
- Align Business Unit strategies into a single, coherent customer and access approach across public and private segments for New Assets in Immunology & Oncology.
- Monitor healthcare policies, reimbursement mechanisms, and institutional procurement processes in Peru to anticipate risks and opportunities for New Assets.
- Position AbbVie as a long-term, value-based partner to key stakeholders.
Distributor Partnership & Governance
- Act as the strategic and operational owner of the distributor relationship for all AbbVie Business Units.
- Define joint objectives, KPIs, and governance models with the distributor.
- Ensure distributor field teams are aligned, trained, and capable of executing multi-portfolio strategies in compliance with AbbVie standards.
- Lead periodic performance reviews, identifying gaps, risks, and improvement actions.
Operational & Business Execution
- Actively participate in strategic internal forums, including Demand Reviews, Forecasting cycles, Estimates, and Country Brand Team meetings.
- Contribute to demand planning accuracy by aligning distributor inputs, tender timelines, and account-level intelligence.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing closure, with close follow-up on orders, deliveries, and invoicing execution.
- Lead order tracking and issue resolution in collaboration with Customer Care, Supply Chain, and the distributor.
- Manage and oversee financial reconciliations with the distributor, including discounts, rebates, and commercial adjustments.
- Review and validate commercial provisions and accruals in coordination with Finance.
- Coordinate the request and issuance of Credit Notes (NC) with Customer Care and Finance, in line with approved agreements.
- Review and monitor commercial agreements, ensuring contractual compliance and follow-up on deviations.
- Ensure adequate product coverage and availability across the portfolio, minimizing access and supply risks.
- Actively support the development of the Annual Operating Plan and contribute to the Long Range Plan (LRP), including portfolio projections up to 10 years.
Experience:
- 3 years of experience in a similar position
- Experience in pharmaceuticals companies

Where We Work
Role is exclusively performed at a site or office and onsite presence is required. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
