Job Description

The Finance Lead drives the financial analysis processes and requirements across supported businesses for the Global Commercial Finance. This position prepares management analysis, provides guidance, and implements process improvements for direct areas of responsibility.

Strong focus on preparation of meaningful management schedules, variance analytics, and thorough working knowledge of current reporting systems. Effective interaction with cross functional and international peers to gather, review and prepare financial analysis for Key Stakeholders. Ability to reconcile data across multiple sources of input, implement process improvements. Provides accurate and timely analysis to meet Global Commercial Finance, AbbVie Corporate FP&A, and project timelines. This role will report to the Finance Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and develops monthly Actuals reporting, quarterly Flashes and Earnings deck consolidation using BPC, BIP and Power BI. Incorporates review changes into financial consolidations.
  • Works directly with Commercial Areas, Global Commercial Finance function teams, Corporate FP&A, Global Marketing, and Margin Accounting Group contacts to understand results and effectively communicate risks to Senior Management for all reporting cycles.
  • Prepare monthly management review package and financial reporting to ensure complete, accurate, and timely monthly performance. Understands monthly results and communicates issues vs. benchmark to areas to agree on resolution or action plan.
  • Operates independently to prepare financial schedules and relevant analysis for each close and earnings cycle and develops clear support for management review.
  • Perform variances and exchange analytics.
  • Prepare financial tie-outs between systems reconciliation.
  • Provides management with clear insights into drivers of business and financial performance and risk; assesses business/market opportunities and informs/recommends prioritization decisions.
  • Develops and enhances reporting schedules in BPC and Power BI.
  • Leads ad hoc analysis projects, and process improvements as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA or MBA a plus.
  • Minimum 6+ years of progressive and related experience.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, along with good interpersonal skills to effectively work with all levels of management.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Advanced Excel skills required; Power BI is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP, HFM, BPC or similar financial modeling skills are required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and self-starter.
  • Assume ownership and accountability for projects.
