AbbVie, a global biopharmaceutical leader, is seeking a dynamic EHS Director to ensure the safety, security, and protection of our assets, people, and reputation across our Germany affiliates. This pivotal role encompasses oversight for three strategically critical sites in Ludwigshafen, Wiesbaden, and Berlin, with a robust workforce and significant physical assets exceeding $1 billion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Coordination: Direct and manage EHS and security teams and contractors to safeguard our facilities and personnel.
- Strategic Security Oversight: Implement and uphold security measures in line with global strategies to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to global and local EHS policies to prevent incidents impacting personnel and the environment.
- Development & Innovation: Drive organizational advancements, ensuring our systems are state-of-the-art through innovation and strategic planning.
- Crisis Management & Business Continuity: Lead efforts in crisis response and continuity planning to maintain our operational excellence.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Partner with top leaders and experts to enhance our security and EHS practices while nurturing talent growth.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in engineering, science, or related field, or equivalent technical experience with 15+ years in engineering/operations.
- 'Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit' qualification
- Proven accomplishments in global project management.
- Strong interpersonal abilities with a history of collaborative success.
- Expertise in healthcare, medical devices, or pharmaceutical industries desirable.
- Financial acumen for budgeting and fiscal control.
- Very good knowledge of German and English
