The Data Manager & Database Specialist will oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of financial databases, ensuring high standards of data integrity and accessibility to drive analytical initiatives and process improvements within Finance Shared Services. This role collaborates across finance, analytics, and IT teams, supporting clean, reliable data flows for business insight and automation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and optimize databases (SQL, Oracle, Alteryx, MS Access) supporting finance operations.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of data across finance systems.
- Design, implement, and monitor ETL pipelines for efficient financial data integration.
- Enable analytical projects and business improvement through well-structured data delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver timely data solutions.
- Develop, implement, and document best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data and database performance issues, drive improvements.
- Support integration of data workflows for digital transformation and automation.
- Mentor junior data staff and foster continuous improvement and data quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years’ hands-on experience with database management (SQL, Oracle, Alteryx, MS Access).
- Proficiency with scripting (Python, R); ETL process design and data pipelines.
- Experience supporting analytics and automation initiatives in financial environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills; mentoring experience.
- High technical aptitude in databases, ETL, scripting, and data manipulation.
- Detail-oriented, accountable, collaborative, and process improvement mindset.
- Strong project management and ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
