The Dermatology Business Unit Manager has direct line management responsibility for the Dermatology sales and marketing organization, and is fully accountable for leading the cross-functional team to deliver commercial in-market brand performance. As a core member of the Immunology Leadership Team, this individual also has a role to play in shaping and elevating the overall performance of the Immunology Business Unit.
Key responsibilities
- Accountable for Brand Performance and P&L – leading the financial planning for Dermatology (Financial Plan, Focus/Update, Long Range Plan).
- Line management of the sales and marketing teams - demonstrating an ability to align, motivate and inspire others to a common goal
- Lead and inspire the Cross-Functional Brand Team around a brand vision and strategy, and collaborate to build cross-functionally aligned objectives strategic priorities and action plans to exceed in-market performance expectations
- Collaborate with above-country stakeholders to shape strategy and secure necessary resources required to deliver growth
- Play a leadership role across the Immunology Business Unit, improving our culture, capabilities and talent
- Role model AbbVie Ways We Work behaviors and enable the Brand Team matrix to work in order to achieve high quality strategy and execution capability.
- Operate within AbbVie Code of Business Conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Significant experience with proven track record of success in both sales and marketing within biotech/pharmaceutical industry
- Ideally experience within a market access roles
- Strong experience of managing multi-layered teams
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Knowledge Requirements
- Excellent marketing knowledge of strategic and tactical marketing and sales principles, and techniques
- Deep knowledge of the UK NHS environment
- Operates and leads effectively in a matrix structure
- Solid knowledge on finance principles and processes

- Proven track record of extraordinary business results in challenging environments
- Experience in working with/having regular interactions with above country teams
- Ability to develop business vision, translate into strategies and actionable, realistic execution actions plus knowledge of territory and relationships with key stakeholders already established
- Proven track record of successful leadership, management and coaching of teams and individuals, and in having developed talent and performance managed low performers.
- Excellent working knowledge of healthcare environment and evolving landscape

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
