Job Description

The Business Relationship Manager is a key role that sits within our Business Technology Solutions (BTS) function. It serves as a pivotal bridge between the brand teams and the affiliate and geo Commercial BTS teams. They assist Brand teams in maximizing the value derived from their digital marketing and data analysis activities. Their role encompasses active involvement in the planning and direction of global/area and local technology implementations and capability development in conjunction with Commercial teams, Affiliate BTS leadership, Affiliate Customer Excellence, Area/Geo BTS, and Global BTS.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide high-quality advice to the Brand Teams, Customer Excellence, and additional local stakeholders on the use of specific technology to create value-added digital activities.
  • Understand the local business landscape and dynamics to create opportunities for the use of technology that supports key business strategies.
  • Build strong working relationships with Area/Cluster/Region BTS management and teams, the Geo BTS Capability teams, and Corporate BTS services.
  • Understand emerging technology and digital strategies within Global and Area, and understand how they will impact affiliate business strategies, as well as existing systems and procedures to plan proper transitions.
  • Manage or be part of the project team for the implementation of Global and Area systems within the affiliate/the region.
  • Define, initiate, and oversee the delivery of technology projects at an affiliate / at a region level.
  • Work with the affiliate team and Geo Team on portfolio and initiatives prioritisation based on business impact and effort.
  • Ensure technology projects, including brand initiatives, comply with local regulatory frameworks and legal requirements.
  • Help the customers make business-savvy decisions regarding risk, costs, measures of success, and Return on Investment for affiliate BTS projects.
  • Maximise impact and usage of platforms/solutions by briefing teams on their value and liaising with internal stakeholders to collect user feedback.
  • Foster innovation and manage change effectively.
  • Work with external partners and customers to advise on the use of technology within their organisations.
  • Promote the value and benefits of Commercial BTS across all areas of competency.
  • Understand the external technical environment and become an expert in understanding how this affects AbbVie at an affiliate level as well as the opportunities it brings for the market.
  • Promote and share solutions both internally within BTS and across affiliates, but also with Brand Teams.
  • Ensure relationships with external parties are managed effectively and constructively, with appropriate contractual considerations in place for AbbVie’s benefit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science/Business or equivalent experience, preferably in business or a closely related discipline
  • Ability to work effectively and highly interactively with all levels of management.
  • Strong independent decision-making, organisational, planning and problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to influence within a matrix organisation and lead without direct authority.
  • Successful management of technology projects through the full lifecycle.
  • Understanding of, or preferably experience delivering digital strategies with corresponding analytic components
  • Management of external service providers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a shared service environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of the technology and digital landscape including mobile, UX, web design, web build, marketing, SEO, SEM, web analytics, and social media.
  • Understanding of of Sales and CRM data management, including data management policies and procedures.
  • Experience in IT Consultancy or Digital Solutions experience and analysing, designing, and improving business processes
  • Experience with Compliance and the System Life Cycle
