Purpose
AbbVie is seeking a full-time Associate Director, HR Communications to develop and deliver communications strategies, execute enterprise communications and guide senior leadership communications that drive awareness, foster understanding and inspire engagement in the company’s culture and commitment to inclusion.
The ideal candidate has experience developing strategic communications plans, senior leadership messaging and a variety of deliverables suitable for internal and external audiences.
This position works collaboratively with Human Resources and other enterprise stakeholders to help execute our strategic communication imperatives across the business.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute communications strategies and tactics aligned to Corporate Communications strategic imperatives.
- Draft key HR-related content and communications to engage employees, leaders and other key stakeholders through compelling writing and delivery.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of the corporate business environment and external HR environment to provide effective counsel to management on communications opportunities and risks.
- Manage review process for external HR communications materials, directing process improvements and ensuring speakers are trained and aware of the process for representing AbbVie externally.
- Guide content direction and approve HR-related social media.
- Manage Human Resources-related content creation and updates on abbvie.com, in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Ensure HR messaging is cascaded and understood across the enterprise through creation of a regular content update process and collaboration with enterprise and functional communications teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to achieve goals, communicate progress and share milestones regularly.
- Identify new communications channels/solutions that allow for more efficient publishing of content, while building greater engagement with employees.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Integrated Marketing, Communications, Journalism or equivalent.
- Eight plus years of relevant experience and proven track record of success in managing employee communications initiatives that protect corporate reputation, citizenship, crisis planning and company values.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with knowledge of emerging communications trends and technologies.
- Strong project management and planning skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to anticipate company and team needs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadlines with competing priorities.
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.
- Extensive experience creating and managing communications on HR-related topics at a large organization/institution.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this postingbased on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more orless than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.

Pay Range: $
137500 - 261000 USD
Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
