As an Associate Director supporting operational initiatives, you will work closely with management to advance Discovery Research’s strategic agenda and support mission-critical initiatives that will make a real difference for AbbVie’s pipeline. You will report to the Director of Operational Excellence, as part of Discovery Research Strategy, Portfolio, and Operations  

Responsibilities:

• Support identifying strategic initiatives that will enhance operational productivity and position Discovery Research for future success 
• Monitor, understand, and prioritize external trends of relevance to the Discovery Research, and help determine how the organization should prepare and/or respond 
• Provide project management support for key strategic planning processes 
• Lead individual modules within complex, cross-functional initiatives, including driving the problem-solving process and supporting research and analytics, and distilling pragmatic recommendations for management consideration 
• Partner with the business to implement recommendations endorsed by management 

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Medicine, Sciences, etc.) preferred 
• Minimum of 2 years of experience at a top-tier strategic consulting firm, preferably with healthcare and pharma industry experience 
• Strong project management skills 
• Ability to lead individual modules within complex, cross-functional initiatives, including driving the problem-solving process and supporting research and analytics, and distilling pragmatic recommendations for management consideration 
• Highly collaborative, genuinely enjoys working hand-in-hand with the businesses to develop solutions that advance AbbVie’s overall mission 
• Strong communication skills, can comfortably lead meetings with mid/senior-level management 
• Sound business judgment 
• Drive, energy, and passion to advance Discovery Research’s pipeline

• The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. ​
