The Clinical Specialist Manager (CSM) works for the Allergan Medical Institute® and will enhance organizational clinical training capabilities through management of the Clinical Specialist(CS) team in the cluster (Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Malta).
The Clinical Specialist Manager provides guidance, strategic and tactical direction to the CS team responsible for the implementation and execution of the country Clinical Facilitation Pathway. He will also provide regular coaching to their Clinical Specialist team helping to further develop their skills and knowledge in facial aesthetics, teaching, facilitating with and coaching our HCP customer-base. The Clinical Specialist Manager will also establish and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, and act as key point of contact with customers & KOL’s for optimal educational requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Weight %
1. Clinical Specialist Team Management - 30%
Supervision and management of the CS team in the assigned accounts that is strategically aligned to the organizational and AMI objectives and is industry leading in both scientific and clinical content, with the end objective of creating independent and confident injectors. Lead the team of CS to plan & organize:
- 1:1 in-clinic facilitations with selected HCPs
- CS team’s support for:
- AA CoE courses
- In-field AMI educational events/trainings
- Small group trainings with AMI Faculty (e.g 1:6 and 1:10)
- Larger faculty-led group trainings e.g. Boot camps and Mentee-led programs
- Development of all the necessary materials for the CS team in-field activities (facilitations, follow ups, etc.), in close collaboration with the Global CS Team
Ensure all CS team members complete their VEEVA CRM daily, and to report back to AMI Lead, monthly, on CS activity utilizing the Clinical Facilitation Power BI Dashboard.
2. Delivers In-Clinic Services (Clinical Specialist) - 40%
Partially maintains the Clinical Specialist Role - identifies educational need and develops recommendations to improve clinical performance of aesthetic practices through delivering a bespoke educational journey for each identified HCP with a focus on AA range of products: botulinum toxin, hybrid injectables and a range of hyaluronic acid fillers and implementation of the educational curricula such as MD Codes™. Maintains a high level of service through reliable and timely follow-up after any interaction with HCPs and records all activity in VEEVA CRM.
3. Drive CS team value-added HCP education via online tools: www.myexcellence.it and AMI Digital World (AMIDW) - 10%
Collaborates regularly with AMI Manager and supports and promotes educational curricula, within the above mentioned online educational tools through the CS team to their HCPs undertaking the Clinical Facilitation Pathway.
4. Supports AMI Lead and AMI Manager in in preparation of the educational programs, training materials and AMI events delivery - 20%
Supports with the delivery of key local AMI events as requested by the AMI Lead. Including, but not limited to, attendance at industry conferences & AMI meetings & MD Codes™ Mentee Programme taking key learnings and communicating these to further support CS team development and effectiveness in-clinic.
A pivotal part of the role – bringing in the “real life experience” from across the CS team both from the in-clinic and in-courses presence. Collaborates closely with AMI Lead/AMI Manager in defining the needs, evolution of the training programs and the respective courses and materials development/updates.
- University degree in a clinical or science-based subject, ideally medicine, nursing, dentistry, or an allied health profession.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Clinical Specialist role within the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry. Alternatively: strong clinical experience (e.g., in-clinic nursing experience) with a strong understanding of pharmaceutical/medical device product handling and application.
- Prior experience managing a team.
- Proven organizational, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with key opinion leaders.
- A proactive and decisive mindset.
- Experience in training/coaching including event management, preparation and delivery of workshops and other training solutions
- Experienced in facilitation to enable team coaching and development
- Fluent English Italian and English; fluent in Greek is a plus
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Valid driver’s license.
Travel: 60-70% of the time, locally, nationally and potentially internationally including overnight travel; some weekend work may be required periodically.
