PRIMARY FUNCTION/OBJECTIVE:
The Team Manager, External Manufacturing Strategy & PMO supports strategic, complex projects or workstreams across multiple contract manufacturing organizations, functions within Supply Chain Management. Accountable for overall Third-Party Manufacturing outsourcing strategy management, selection, new product commercialization risk management and application of industry-standard project management methodology, tools, and processes to ensure successful team execution, project delivery and ways of working. Interface with global/internal product brand team, R&D, CMC-RA, subject-matter experts, key stakeholders, functional leads and CMO. Responsible for effective project team management, governance, prioritization, and monthly reporting as they apply to assigned projects and new and improved processes. Reports to Group Manager, Supply Chain Management.

Team Management
- Set clear team goals and KPIs

Third Party Manufacturing Strategy
- Develop and implement TPM outsourcing strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency in operations.
- Partner with Global Procurement in the identification and selection of new contract manufacturers and negotiation and termination of Supply Agreements, as required.
- Oversee the transition and integration of outsourced operations, ensuring minimal disruption to business processes and maintaining quality standards.
- Facilitate the collection of contract manufacturer's capacity information (e.g. stated capacity, firm capacity, future capacity plans, time horizon/ lead times required, comments/concerns, etc.), presents the information to Supply Chain Management and drives recommendations for capacity expansion at contract manufacturers, as required.
- Organize and facilitate annual business review meetings or other governance structures with CMOs to drive continuous improvement.
Project Management
- Manages entire local manufacturing and packaging operations strategic projects for NPI utilizing project management tools and processes, to meet agreed scopes, timelines, deliverables, budgets, resource estimates and success criteria.
- This position serves as Single Point of Contact with JASL in regard to commercialization of new products to ensure the evaluation is completed among all relevant functions with the confirmation of BU head.
- Interfaces with sites, functional representatives, other functions, and other key stakeholders to assure continuous alignment of priorities.
- Applies effective problem-solving individually and with the project team to address challenges encountered in successful project delivery.
- Proactively identifies and shares relevant best practices to improve project delivery and SCM capabilities.
- Tracks and reports on the progress of assigned projects to the sponsor, appropriate governance, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Trains team members and relevant project members as needed on project management tools and governance processes.
- Understands the larger project portfolio(s), identifying and resolving potential resource conflicts, and prioritizes appropriately to ensure successful delivery of the franchise/domain strategy.
- Manages the whole project budgets, expenses, and resources to meet estimates and commitments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 7 years combined experience in commercial / business and manufacturing (operations, project management, quality, technology, supply chain, etc.) functions in pharmaceutical, chemical or related industry required (or equivalent combination of education /experience).
- Experience working globally, leading virtual teams in a matrixed environment.
- Experience presenting to or communicating with senior management.
- Project management certification PMP would be good to have.
- Demonstrated track record of success in managing strategic, complex, cross-functional, and multi-site projects on-time, on-budget and to committed deliverables, to generate significant business value.
- Takes appropriate initiative and accountability, demonstrating both entrepreneurial spirit and a collaborative mindset.
- Must be decisive in an ambiguous environment.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, motivation and communications skills.
- Strong team management skills.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and fast pace
- Up to 10% travel required with role.
