Here in AbbVie, Ballytivnan, we are looking for a Utilities Engineer to join their team.
What you will do:
- Ensure the performance of day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance activity to maintain manufacturing and utility equipment.
- Assist with the management and supporting of manufacturing / utility /facility project plans.
- Coordinate maintenance of manufacturing & facility equipment to required maintenance schedules.
- Manage ABB process waste capacity to align with the production schedule requirements.
- Manage dosing of the ABB process waste system through our sub-vendors.
- Co-ordination of process waste tanker off-loading from the site.
- Implementation of equipment/process upgrade works in an environment of continuous improvement.
- Support the Engineering Team in ensuring that manufacturing equipment is maintained to meet the required legal, divisional and corporate standards.
- Ensure the effective management of appropriate internal and external plant projects.
- Implementation of all relevant policies relating to Quality, Engineering & Safety.
- Supervise external contractors which include development of performance metrics for third party service providers of site services.
- Negotiate cost and drive quality & performance with external contractors.
- Prepare appropriate CAPA plans and implement timelines.
- Manage the execution of projects within the group.
- Carry out and implement equipment and process improvement initiatives.
- Establish with the Site Engineering Services Manager the performance goals, schedules and timetables for activities.
- Develops monthly engineering metrics for operations, utilities, and facilities which includes owner ship of Site Maintenance Excellence
- Program to drive operational improvements including implementing cost savings.
- Issue management reports as requested and on time.
- Management of relevant budgets within target.
- Cross train within department to ensure appropriate preventive maintenance schedules are achieved.
What you will need:
- 3rd level Engineering qualification or Trade qualified
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing GMP environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under own initiative and to lead teams

Where We Work
Role is exclusively performed at a site or office and onsite presence is required. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
