Reporting to the Immunology Therapeutic Area Head, your main responsibilities as the Gastro Therapeutic Area Lead will be as follows:
- Lead the Brand-aligned Medical team and ensure compliance to corporate requirements and processes on Medical activities.
- Drive Medical strategy for the Brand and integrate into Brand plan.
- Understand AbbVie's in-licensing opportunities with academic centres for early phase/discovery products.
- Supervise the initiation, conduct and analysis of the results of scientific programs and Clinical Education activities.
- Manage AbbVie's Medical team reporting into you: Medical Managers, MSL Leads and MSLs
- Develop consolidated budgets for Medical activities.
- Explore with other Affiliates opportunities for international collaborative studies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical industry working in similar positions within immunology therapeutic area, ideally within Inflammatory Boel Diseases.
- Academic and/or professional Scientific background.
- Experience working in a matrix organization.
- Previous experience managing teams is required, at least 5 years of people management experience.
- Working understanding of statistical research methods.
- Previous experience in product launches is a nice to have.
- Familiarity with GCP (good clinical practice) and (SOP) standard operation procedures.
- Previous experience within an in-field, stakeholder/customer facing role would be ideal.
- Concepts of Epidemiology and HEOR.
- Product/Indication Approval Processes.
- Publication Processes.
- Fluent in English.
