Purpose:
We are seeking an Engineering Technician to join us full time in Manorhamilton Road, Sligo. The purpose of this role is to provide technical support to the Utilities and Environmental monitoring equipment, to ensure continual compliance with the policies relating to Personnel, Quality, Engineering, Safety and Finance and to ensure the performance of day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance activity to maintain utility and environmental monitoring equipment.
What you will do:
- Establish with the engineering team leader the department goals, schedules and timetables for activities.
- Stay abreast of developments in technology relevant to the processes being carried out on site.
- Maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
- Supporting external, Division and Corporate audits.
- In conjunction with calibration coordinator ensure compliance with calibration requirements.
- Completion of PM on utility and environmental monitoring equipment.
- Cross train within manufacturing engineering plant support engineers.
- Ensure safety standards are met, and safe working practices adhered to.
- Implementation of equipment/process upgrade in an environment of continuous improvement.
- Liaise with other site Engineering departments as required.
- Adhering to all relevant policies relating to Quality & Safety.
- Supervise external contractors.
- Work with Cross functional teams to identify and implement Continuous improvements across the Utilities and site. Focusing on Safety, Quality, Culture and Cost
- Completion and support of any Safety or Quality Investigations as required.
- Work with Reliability Engineering to continually monitor and improve the Maintenance Excellence Program in Utilities
- Adheres to and supports all EHS & E standards, procedures and policies
What you will need:
- 3rd level qualification in Engineering OR Trade qualified
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing background
- Strong knowledge of Utilities including Boilers, chillers, compressor, thermal oxidizer, pumps, purified water systems etc
