We are recruiting a Maintenance Technician (12 Months) to join our diverse team in AbbVie North Dublin. To provide a Manufacturing Engineering service to the drug products plant, in order to maximize the availability of Manufacturing Equipment. To ensure continual compliance with the policies relating to Personnel, Quality, Engineering, Safety and Finance. To ensure the performance of day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance activity to maintain manufacturing and utility equipment. To liaise with Production to ensure equipment performance is maximized. To maintain records and documentation on relevant Engineering Procedures and preventative/ demand maintenance including Maximo. To liaise with Internal/External Engineering Personnel and contract maintenance providers in maintaining trouble shooting and installing/commissioning equipment. To facilitate the implementation of Equipment projects/ process improvements

·          Establish with the engineering team leader the department goals, schedules, and timetables for activities.


·          Stay abreast of developments in technology relevant to the processes being carried out on site.


·          Maintain production and facility equipment in strict accordance with maintenance instructions, SOPs, and cGMPs.


·          Ensure successful external, Division and Corporate audits.


·          Completion of on-time PM on manufacturing equipment while ensuring Maximo work orders are up to date.


·          Ensure safety standards are met and safe working practices adhered to.


·          Keep the work area, including the workshop, neat and orderly and always audit ready.


·          Implementation of equipment/process upgrade in an environment of continuous improvement.


·          Support the Production Team in ensuring that manufacturing equipment is maintained to meet the output and yield requirements.


·          Adhering to all relevant policies relating to Quality & Safety.


·          Complete and conform to all training requirements for job role, including company-required and role-specific training.  


·          Carry out and assist in the ongoing training of new and existing personnel, as appropriate.


·          Supervise external contractors.


·          Negotiate cost / quality effective external contracts.


·          Required to undertake specific investigations, and equipment monitoring, with the view to improving manufacturing performance e.g., maximizing Plant output and yield.


·          It may be necessary to re-design elements of manufacturing machinery to adapt to process conditions in order to improve efficiency.


·          Considerable and continual care and attention needed to avoid substantial damage to equipment. Losses could be significant. Continual attention needed to ensure plant reaches its annual production plan.


·          Failure on the incumbents part not to exercise due care could cause repeated small losses or occasional damage.


·          Adheres to and supports all EHS & E standards, procedures, and policies.


Qualifications

So, what do you need to do this role?


  • Relevant Electrical, Mechanical trade exams or academic engineering qualification to Ordinary degree level at a minimum. Automation experience is an advantage.

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a relevant industry at an equivalent position.

  • Detailed functional knowledge required of a wide range of manufacturing equipment. Example: Compression tablet presses, Blenders, mills, Encapsulation machines, Granulators, Hot melt extruders, and Fluid bed dryers.

  • Strong IT knowledge is required.

  • Strong trouble shooting and documentation skills.
