Job Description

Purpose:

  • This people leadership role has a direct impact on AbbVie Singapore’s ability to efficiently meet commitments to customers and client organizations including targets for cost control. 
  • The primary function is to ensure that direct & in-direct materials are planned and procured to meet the manufacturing schedule, while optimizing the inventory levels on site.
  • This position supports Biologics & API manufacturing including technology transfer of NPI. He / She will work closely with cross-functional teams to that to ensure material readiness in compliance with GMP requirements for manufacturing.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Own and maintain material planning and supplier master data in the ERP system. (Item Master, Vendor Master, Planning Records, Bill of Materials, MRP, Purchase Orders, etc.)
  • Reviews and analyzes the Material Requirements Plan (MRP) and releases purchase order requisitions or adjusts purchase order deliveries as needed to meet the production schedule.
  • Analyzes raw material lead times, safety stock levels, and inventory turns to maintain inventories at levels consistent with company objectives to support production requirements while optimizing inventory levels.
  • Ensure compliance of all Supply Chain and Purchasing operations with all relevant cGMP, regulatory requirement and corporate policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Provides raw material forecast data for LBE review
  • Conduct site monthly Sales & Operations (S&OP) in alignment with Regional Biologics S&OP review with VP
  • Participating in API & BIO Brands meeting for alignment of the supply plan versus manufacturing schedule.  
  • Lead and drive supply chain initiatives and projects at site level.
  • Identify, develop, and implement improved supply chain practices to meet changing business environments.
  • Work with process COEs and IT on systems and business process improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relevant site level SOPs.
  • Analyze supplier performance and supply chain risk to develop risk mitigation plan.
  • Support Internal and External Audits as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or other discipline, preferably with operations management.  
  • 10+ years with minimally 5 – 8 years in production planning and scheduling, and supply chain management, and preferably 1 year experience in customs and trade compliance.
  • 2+ years of proven people leadership experience.
  • Experience in SAP and other MRP systems. 
  • Broad functional knowledge of import and export regulations in Asia Pacific region, particularly Singapore.
  • Ability to establish a good working relationship with cross-functional teams while delivering targets and KPIs. The role involves collaboration with many other functional groups within and outside of AbbVie, including senior management, technical and commercial functions, to influence and shape business system development strategy.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • High level of attention to details to ensure accuracy and total compliance with procedures.
  • Results driven striving to meet all targets and metric standards as set by department/site and division leaders
  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing with an understanding of manufacturing activities and GMP concepts preferred.
  • APICS certification or equivalent preferred.
