Job Description

The individual will be expected to provide North Africa Affiliate with focus on Egypt & Libya with detailed planning input in order to sustain the entire S&OP Planning process. Through a strategic approach, the Supply Chain Lead will ensure there is agreement between all necessary parties. This includes:

  • Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns.
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.
  • Manage sales performance information from the company to support the S&OP. 
  • Manage inventory DOH levels and highlight risks/opportunities in TMS based on IMS actual trends and forecast – timely communication and recommendations to Leadership Team.
  • Set and coordinate reconciliation meetings with the commercial team to review current forecast, in-market sales, inventory levels and DOH to challenge and ensure the most accurate forecast (supervise Demand Manager)
  • Manages One Supply Chain Specialist  (Contractor) who coordinates some logistics and supply/demand tasks.
  • Administer, integrate, and consolidate sales projections to be presented to the AMT and elaborate reports requested by Region. Reconcile supply, demand and new product plans at both detail and aggregate level and tied to the business plan to be reviewed during the S&OP process.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Customer service in order to recognize variances and then adjust the forecast accordingly.
  • Main point of contact with Distributors to secure Purchase Orders in-line with forecast, while managing inventory levels in reference to target
  • Owns Distributors Contracts and manages relationships and strategic alignments – working closely with Legal/Regulatory/Access/Commercial/Finance. Managing contract renewals/amendments while ensuring full compliance with AbbVie policies
  • Run monthly S&OP Meetings for the Affiliate – consolidating and driving meeting minutes and follows-through with stakeholders. Document assumptions and market trends discussed in the Demand Review meetings and consolidate the information that is going to be used in the Standard and Operating Planning (S&OP) meeting.
  • Coordinate with Finance team members along with Finance Director, Demand/Financial Planning (ADS), Update and LRP timetables and established requirements and communicate to commercial and support areas, as needed.  Prepare and communicate the various planning cycles calendars (ADS, Demand Reviews, S&OP, as applicable)
  • Document assumptions and market trends discussed in the Demand Review meetings and consolidate the information that is going to be used in the Standard and Operating Planning (S&OP) meeting.
  • Regular reporting of the demand plan and KPIs.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing SKUs, new products, and product phase-outs (volume planning for LBE, Update, PLN, LRP).
  • Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning (VLOG) – and propose/develop process enhancements and partnership with Supply Team
  • Ensure one set of numbers between Demand Statement, Published forecast and financial LBE
  • Constantly engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment in lead times, inventory days, liquidation plans and inventory aging.
  • Work with multiple key stakeholders cross-functionally to align on new products launches along with setting required milestones and following-through with relevant task owners to deliver Plan/LBE
  • Decision Support/Special Projects – provide ad-hoc analyses that lend insight into key business drivers enabling senior management to adapt more appropriate tactics/strategy to meet the Plan/LRP objectives.
  • Ensure production plans are aligned to the commercial forecasts.
  • Support Finance Director in other matters concerning departmental responsibilities and issues, as well as support the affiliate upper management in strategic initiatives, as directed. 
  • Lead and develop direct report (Demand Manager) and leverage resource to implement process enhancements through cross-functionally.

 


Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 7+ years’ work experience in corporate environment in similar role in FMCG, Consumer Healthcare, Pharma
  • Regional experience, more than 1 market.
  • Proven experience in project management cross-functionally
  • Distribution model background of experience
  • MS Office advanced user 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with SAP, JDA, DX Dashboard
  • Experience with SOX controls and revenue recognition
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical skills and independent judgment
  • Ability to negotiate and influence. 
  • Effective problem solving and decision making.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Solve a variety of issues, such as forecast variances, processes improvement, as well as problem solving related with programs and systems used in Planning area.

GM, FD and Commercial leads, FP&A team, QA, MKA, Legal, RA, Market Access, Logistics Hub & Area Demand team.

External Stakeholders

Distributors / Government Bodies in Egypt and Libya markets mainly.
