QC Pharma Supervisor

AbbVie is seeking a QC Pharma Supervisor to lead day-to-day Quality Control laboratory operations, supporting chemistry analysis and stability testing in line with defined schedules, regulatory requirements, and company standards.

About the Role
As QC Pharma Supervisor, you will supervise daily laboratory activities to ensure testing is completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with GMP/GLP and other applicable regulatory guidelines. You will support scheduling, participate in daily Tier 1 meetings, and work closely with Supervisors, Quality, and Laboratory Management to uphold the Quality Management System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily laboratory operations and ensure team activities are carried out in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support weekly and daily laboratory schedules and participate in daily Tier 1 meetings to review shift productivity.
  • Ensure all testing data, raw data, and results are documented accurately, legibly, and on time.
  • Use laboratory systems such as LIMS, Sample Manager, and Empower effectively.
  • Review and interpret test results.
  • Promote and maintain compliance with company standards in safety, housekeeping, and quality.
  • Identify and escalate any discrepancies or non-conformances to management.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and adherence to Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Work on a rotating monthly shift pattern.
  • Collaborate with team members, Supervisors, the Quality Manager, and the Laboratory Manager to ensure compliance with the Quality Management System.

Qualifications

  • BS in science or equivalent (Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology preferred)
  • 2-5 years of laboratory experience
  • 2-5 years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated skills to deal effectively with members of the department and the areas serviced by the laboratory
  • Problem solving skills are required
  • Must be able to interpret impact of laboratory data for appropriate and effective actions
  • Must be able to identify problem areas requiring development, maintenance, production, engineering, accounting, or planning with assistance from more senior staff
  • Must also be able to identify, communicate, and follow-through to completion and assist in the development of necessary corrective action plans to resolve the problem with supervision. May also assist in the activities required for the investigation and resolution

Additional Information

Qualifications and Experience

  • Third-level qualification in a Science discipline, preferably Chemistry.
  • 1–2 years’ experience working as an Analyst in a GMP/GLP environment.
  • 1–2 years’ experience working with analytical equipment, particularly HPLC and GC, as well as other laboratory techniques.
  • Working knowledge and experience using Empower.
  • Strong understanding of Data Integrity from a laboratory perspective.
  • Excellent communication, organization, time management, and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.
