Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION/OBJECTIVE:

The Strategic Planning Lead will be responsible for the evaluation of new product (pipeline) opportunities with solid business case based on comprehensive considerations on market and product evaluation, registration, clinical development and market access strategy, as well as presenting ASEAN commercial opportunities across ASEAN, Asia, Intercontinental and Global team to support decision. Also, this role will integrate strong understanding in business strategy and priorities to work with ASEAN GM and leadership team to facilitate and coordinate the meeting.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

New Product (Pipeline) Planning    

  • Be responsible for the evaluation of new product (pipeline) opportunities with solid business case based on comprehensive considerations on market and product evaluation, registration, clinical development and market access strategy, as well as presenting ASEAN commercial opportunities across ASEAN, Asia, Intercontinental and Global team to support decision-making
  • Lead ASEAN projects of pipeline to input into pipeline strategies from commercial, market access, clinical and regulatory perspectives and co-developed brand strategy
  • Establish close working relationship well project management with internal functional teams from global /Intercontinental / Asia / ASEAN to ensure the alignment of ASEAN development program to address ASEAN-specific commercial needs for new products
  • Work with the finance team and commercial team to develop accurate Long Range Plan forecast for pipeline products based on insightful market assumptions and the latest environmental and policy changes.
  • Co-contribute on the prioritized assets with country brand teams within ASEAN cluster and transfer smoothly to brand team to make sure optimize the commercial benefit and achieve launch excellence       

Strategic Planning Initiatives

  • Integrate strong understanding in business strategy and priorities to work with ASEAN GM and leadership team to facilitate and coordinate the meeting 
  • Co-create ASEAN pipeline development strategy on assets development from a very early stage to make assets more adaptable to ASEAN market
  • Deep dive in strategic TAs and build ASEAN TA portfolio strategy to support ASEAN long-term strategy development
  • Keep tracking of ASEAN countries’ industry environment change and the related market dynamics, generate value insights to support TA portfolio strategy
  • Lead cross-functional ASEAN projects upon needs

Qualifications

  • Requirements:

    • Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in a multinational corporation (MNC)
    • At least 1-2 years of consulting experience, preferably with established consulting firms
    • Experience working in/ for more than one ASEAN country is preferred
  • Specialized Experience:

    • Experience in New Product Planning or Marketing Strategy within relevant therapeutic areas
    • Consulting experience with pharmaceutical projects is a plus
    • Launch readiness and product development process knowledge
    • Expertise in business case analysis and forecasting models
    • Portfolio strategy or marketing-related experience is preferred

    • Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills, capable of collaborating with global teams

    • Keen interest in strategy and new product planning
