Finance Shared Services (FSS) organization was established as one of the key elements of new operating model for AbbVie to provide accurate financial accounting and reporting for all affiliates and business units. The FSS center for EMEA region is based in Krakow, Poland and is serving as a chief accounting and controllership function for all affiliates and manufacturing plants in the region, providing support in US GAAP accounting, tax and statutory compliance and reporting and in selected FP&A and order to cash processes.          The center was established in 2013.


Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Manages local statutory accounting and reporting processes for selected entities within EMEA region, supporting audits and tax deliverables

Key Responsibilities:

  • Statutory Filings: Prepare annual financial statements in line with Local GAAP requirements for group legal entities.
  • GAAP Reconciliation: Ensure reconciliation between Local GAAP and US GAAP.
  • Audit Coordination: Manage statutory calendars, working with auditors and departments. Own the process of addressing auditors’ requests.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist with tax provisions and returns.
  • Policy Implementation: Implement accounting policies/standards.
  • Improvement Initiatives: Identify and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Master's degree in Finance/Accounting.
  • Experience: 5+ years financial accounting in international settings; statutory accounts hands on knowledge. Auditor experience is a plus
  • Certification: IFRS accounting/ACCA/CIMA preferred
  • Technical Skills: Excel and SAP proficiency.
  • Language Skills: English required; other languages an asset.
  • Competencies:

    • Business acumen, communication, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to interact at all levels.
    • Adaptable and improvement-driven.
