We are currently looking for a highly motivated scientist with a strong knowledge of targeted protein degradation (TPD) and/or the ubiquitin proteasome system (UPS) to join our dynamic cross-functional team. In this role, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to lead a group of biologists in the exploration of the mechanism of action of novel ligase binding ligands. The ideal candidate will have a proven expertise in high throughput assays related to targeted protein degradation. It is essential for the successful candidate to stay up-to-date with relevant internal and external scientific literature and possess the ability to rigorously analyze, document, and report data. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in presenting in front of groups are also required. Join our team at Abbvie and contribute to ground-breaking research in the field of target protein degradation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a group of biologists in the development, optimization, and execution of assays to facilitate chemistry efforts in discovering novel ligase binding ligands.
- Conceive and execute independent scientific research to profile the potency, efficacy, and mechanism of action of degraders, including ternary complex formation and ubiquitination, utilizing plate-based biochemical/cellular assays and quantitative western blot.
- Innovate by developing novel cellular & biochemical assays to support structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies for degraders.
- Collaborate with Therapeutic Area and Platform biology leads to drive and contribute to pipeline projects.
- Exhibit a high level of initiative and proficiency in troubleshooting experiments and lead by example in maintaining high standards in data analysis and quality.
- Maintain accurate written records of laboratory procedures and effectively communicate research findings in cross-functional project team meetings and publications.
