Purpose
Key position with the responsibility of providing tactical leadership assuring that site’s planning and material management functions are strategically aligned with the annual and long-range plans for key biologics assets and new pipeline assets. The Sr Manager, Materials Management coordinate planning, warehousing, distribution, and forecasting activities to limit cost and improve accuracy, customer service assurance of products to our patients. Direct the planning, requisition, movement, storage, or processing of inventory. Assure the coordination and execution of the logistics of all aspects of the supply chain related with the manufacturing plant such as the plan and strategy, the sources of raw materials and services, the manufacturing plan focusing on productivity and efficiency, the delivery and logistics, and the coordination of any returned material for proper disposition.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all planning activities are properly executed to meet the deliveries, performance and inventory levels established for the Plant, taking into consideration the availability of equipment, personnel, and materials.
- Ensure an effective inventory replenishment process for Direct materials in conjunction with the local Purchasing Supplier Management group. Responsible for managing all the materials in our approved supplier list (ASL). Ensure the receiving and disposition of all materials are handled and managed in compliance with the GR established per product.
- Coordinate the management of inventories in internal warehouse and external warehouses. Responsible for quality compliance of the warehouses including external and internal audits. Ensuring the shipment of both BDP materials to the packing plants and BDS materials to affiliates in both US and worldwide.
- Manage the sales and operations planning process including supply/demand forecasting, inventory management, and on time delivery. Monitor and analyze current trends in the marketplace.
- Analyze inventories of materials and products to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
- Evaluate, develop, or select information technology solutions to eliminate obsolete planning tools and implement digital planning, tracking and reporting of materials or products storage and inventory (Factory of the Future)
- Drive cross functional alignment across different sites within the biologic region on supply planning and material management topics.
- Execute performance improvement and cost improvement programs including distressed inventory avoidance and inventory accuracy (OPEX).
•Deliver executive level presentations to communicate strategy and results for the plant and the region.
Significant work activities:
- Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required

- Continuous walking for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required
- Bachelor degree in a Scientific, Engineering or Business related area is required. MBA or higher education preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in Operations, Supply Chain, or Financial Management within the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry is required.
- 6+ years of Supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of raw materials handling, production processes, quality assurance/quality control, cost and techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of products/intermediates.
- Previous experience managing and implementing process improvement projects is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources effective and efficient utilization.
- Must have a demonstrated capacity to build relationships both internally and externally to the organization and manage a diverse multicultural workforce.
- Should have a very advance interpersonal skills, be persuasive, empathetic, able to handle pressure, creative, have sense of urgency and attention to details. Must exhibit leadership, people management skills, advance negotiation and conflict resolution skills, and organizational and planning abilities.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
