The primary objective of this position is to support the Vice President, Allergan Aesthetics Controller and organization in driving strategic and high-impact initiatives, optimizing financial operations and controls, and enabling alignment cross-functionally for all financial planning and actuals reporting deliverables for the Allergan Aesthetics Business Unit. Specifically, this position is responsible for all consolidated financial planning and reporting, internal controls, and leadership of finance operations teams such as Pricing, Procure to Pay Concierge, Finance Systems, Finance Transformation, and Sales & Operations Planning.
Core Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting and Internal Controls:
- Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual close / reporting processes for Allergan Aesthetics globally while ensuring accurate and timely reporting of monthly financial results in accordance with GAAP and reporting requirements from Global and Corporate requirements.
- Develop effective reporting, monitor performance, and support development of contingency plans as necessary to deliver results with clear and concise commentary.
- Work closely with the external and internal audit teams to coordinate all US and pricing audit cycles effectively and implementing any audit recommendations according to due dates as applicable.
- Drive enhancements of internal controls in US, strengthen US internal control environment and ensure financial results are recorded in compliance with AbbVie financial policies, SOX and GAAP.
- Lead monthly Governance reviews, identifying key topics to highlight to the Vice President, Commercial Controller and the Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller.
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Proactively lead the planning processes [Plan, LBE and LRP] globally ensuring accurate and timely integration of sales forecasts, pricing, and investment resourcing; ensuring senior management input to meet overall Business Unit / Global / Corporate deadlines and deliverables.
- Coordinate across the Business Unit timelines, requirements, targets, financial presentations, and financial results for all planning requirements.
- Ensure financial planning and reporting deliverables are accurate, clear and concise for Executive level review and approval.
- Provide analyses for ad hoc or other special project business presentations that lend insight into key business drivers, enabling senior management to adapt more appropriate strategy to meet both short and long-term objectives.
- Lead Intangible Asset valuation analytics, leveraging partnerships with Commercial and R&D business leaders to provide insights on Brand dynamics, key decision points, and sensitivities on forecast assumptions.
- Lead Investor Relations reporting quarterly for the Allergan Aesthetic business, shaping the narrative for external reporting.
- Finance Operations:
- Lead US Aesthetics Pricing, partnering with the US Aesthetics business to implement strategic pricing strategies. Includes close cooperation with Tx on mitigation of Best Price impacts on Botox Tx.
- Monitor and enhance appropriate controls to ensure accuracy, completeness of pricing operations, in cooperation with the different business teams.
- Lead US Aesthetics Concierge Procure-to-Pay organization.
- Lead Global Aesthetics Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) organization.
- Represent the Aesthetics organization for Finance Transformation, leading the efforts for the global organization, interfacing between Areas and the Corporate team. Ensure the design and enhancement of current and future systems and tools meet the needs of the organization. Drive change management for Aesthetics.
- Communicate strategic vision, assess organization design, establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators, and drive decision making for deliverables.
- Demonstrate strategic business partnership by collaborating cross-functionally with leadership and teams for Allergan Aesthetics Brand Teams, Customer Service, Operations (Manufacturing) and Supply Chain, BTS, and Enterprise Finance Transformation to ensure alignment and effective execution on goals.
- Leadership:
- Build an effective network within Aesthetics to facilitate navigation and alignment throughout the complex matrix environment.
- Effectively lead and develop a team of ~30 professionals with 8 direct reports.
- Identify, nurture and develop key talent with an eye towards future leadership roles within various areas of AbbVie’s Aesthetics and Therapeutics organizations.
- Identify areas for future process improvements as part of a key member of the Aesthetics Finance leadership team.
Reports To:
- Vice President, Controller, Allergan Aesthetics
- Effectively manage matrix relationships with Global/Corporate Finance, Internal/External Audit, Therapeutics Finance
- 15+ years progressive accounting or finance experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Motivation to grow in a dynamic environment and proven ability to have an impact on the organization at senior leadership level.
- Experience in leading and motivating a team in a dynamic business environment to successfully achieve results and on-time deliverables.
- Experience leading the finance organization of a business unit, and experience demonstrating enterprise leadership.
- Pharma or Consumer Goods Commercial Finance experience and knowledge of the financial planning process.
- Ability to solve business problems through the proactive identification of issues and subsequent collection, analysis, and interpretation of related data.
- Experience supporting senior operating management, with executive presence and ability to challenge the status quo while building relationships.
- Experience working independently as well as team environments and integrating activities across multiple functions.
Preferred:
- MBA in Accounting or Finance and / or CPA
- Solid understanding of automated accounting/financial systems such as SAC, desktop productivity and mainframe accounting applications
- Deep understanding of pharma and medical devices pricing dynamics

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
