We are seeking highly motivated post-doc candidates to join the AbbVie Product Development Science and Technology (PD S&T) organization in Singapore. Candidates are invited to participate in a 4-year program to groom our next generation biotech innovators to support AbbVie’s ever-increasing pipeline of new modalities. The training program, supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board, will be conducted across different AbbVie sites including Singapore and the United States, and trainees will work in state of the art facilities equipped to develop and characterize biologics processes involving new modalities.
Successful trainees will be mentored by AbbVie vast network of scientific experts, while they engage in actual projects involving areas such as gene therapy, bispecifics and antibody drug conjugates.
At the end of the training program, trainees will continue to have the opportunity to apply their skillsets in new modalities research in the Singapore Process Development team.
Responsibilities
- Undergo training in biologics process development by working on a variety of assignments and cross functional project teams within the Operations PD S&T Biologics departments.
- Participate in implementation of research initiatives in pipeline programs by performing cell line development process and analytical development and tech transfer/new product introduction to commercial manufacturing sites.
- Develop skillsets and expertise in specific areas of new biologics modalities and contribute to assigned projects in the respective groups.
- Sources and identifies emerging scientific trends (external and internal) in new biologics modalities to assess relevance in application to assigned projects. Advance cross-functional collaborations that further enhance scientific breakthroughs that solve project challenges.
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, biological compounds, and GxP compliance.
The duration and venue of training may change due to the global travel restrictions and visa application outcomes but every effort will be made to ensure exposure and experience in actual projects involving new biologics modalities.
- Recent Graduates with a Ph.D. degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related fields to support biologics process development
- A keen interest in biologics and a desire to innovate in the areas of new biologics modalities
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrate excellent communication and prolific writing
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Desirable (in at least 1 or more areas listed)
- Experience in developing, optimizing and executing new analytical methods and techniques to characterize complex proteins, antigens and novel protein-based therapeutics
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in cell line development techniques, including transfection, cell engineering, and clone selection. Familiarity with molecular biology techniques and gene expression analysis
