Job Description

Responsible for providing statistical support to the research and development organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with experts in multiple disciplines to advance medicines to our patients.

  • Contribute to design, analysis and reporting of clinical trials or other scientific research studies.

  • Assist with clinical trial design and development of protocols.

  • Develop statistical analysis plans with details for programming implementation.

  • Work to implement sound statistical methodology in scientific investigations utilizing experience with missing data, multiple imputation and mixed effects model for repeated measures.

  • Assist in identifying scientifically appropriate data collection instruments.

  • Identify and report data issues or violations of study assumptions.

  • Provide programming algorithms for derived variables and analysis datasets.

  • Utilize experience with SAS and R statistical software, and statistical methods.

  • Collaborate with Clinical Data Strategy and Operation team in preparing for database lock.

  • Use Bayesian methods for study design and analysis. Perform statistical analyses as per the analysis plan.

  • Collaborate with Statistical Programming team to ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs according to agreed-upon timelines.

  • Evaluate appropriateness of available software for planned analyses and assess needs for potential development of novel statistical methodology.

  • Develop strategy for data presentation and inference.

  • Ensure appropriate interpretation of statistical deliverables in collaboration with other functions.

  • Collaborate in publication of scientific research.

  • Ensure accuracy and internal consistency of reports and publications, including tables, listings, and figures.

  • Support communications between assigned product teams and functional management.

  • Build and drive cross-functional relationships and collaboration.

  • Contribute to benefit-risk planning and assessment.

  • Responsible for clinical trial designs and performing statistical computations and simulations.

  • Contribute to cross-functional development of output specifications to address both pre-planned safety analyses and ad hoc requests

Qualifications

Education & Experience

 

  • Must have:

  • PhD or foreign academic equivalent in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a highly related field of study; and Academic or industrial background in the following:

  •  

(i)               experience with R statistical software, and application of statistical methods in clinical trials;

(ii)              Bayesian methods and implementation;

(iii)             clinical trial designs and performing statistical computations and simulations; and

(iv)            experience with utilizing statistical methodologies including missing data and multiple imputation.

Pay Range: $133,000 - $157,500 per year

The compensation range listed above is the range of possible base pay compensation that AbbVie believes in good faith that it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range may vary based on a number of factors, including geographic location. This range may also be modified in the future.  We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.  This job is eligible to participate in our short-term and long-term incentive programs.
