Responsibilities
- Bring new products from R&D into production, including process set-up, fixturing, WIs, and training.
- Update drawings and initiate ECO’s in support of Sustaining Engineering and Operations needs.
- Update labels and associated artwork needed to support Production and Regulatory needs.
- Perform necessary changes to product and consumable drawings and manage through approval.
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing to resolve production issues.
- Design tools/fixtures for production to increase process cycle time and/or eliminate repetitive strain.
- Perform root cause analysis with data driven approach.
- Develop validation, verification, and qualification protocols.
- Apply the principles of GD&T to all drawings of parts and assemblies.
- Work cross-functionally to implement design solutions and provide documentation as required.
- Work on, and track, multiple projects and ECO’s simultaneously.
- Work closely with other departments and outside entities, (e.g. vendors and contract resources, to insure design and documentation conformance to all quality requirements).
- Contribute to identifying and implementing process and design improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, BSME, BSEE, BSIE and at least 5-7 years of experience in engineering design and documentation for electromechanical and mechanical systems; medical device experience is a plus.
- Exposure to systems or parts of systems that have contained basic knowledge in the areas of fluidics, thermal, injection molding, sheet metal, adhesives, electronic circuitry, flex circuits, connectors, cables, part design, packaging and manufacturing assembly processes is preferred.
- Attention to detail with respect design and documentation procedures.
- A drive to get the job done in the face of obstacles, conflicting priorities and time constraints. Ability to reach out into the organization for assistance and resources when needed.
- Experience using 3D modeling software, Creo is preferred.
- Competency with MS Office including Word, and Excel, with Adobe Illustrator experience strongly preferred.
- Works well with other engineers in a collaborative, fast-paced goal-driven environment.

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering specifications, technical procedures and vendor data sheets or instructions.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to clearly and concisely convey project accomplishments, obstacles, issues and status to project team members.
- Responsible for performing all duties in compliance with FDA’s Quality System Regulation (QSR), ISO13485, the Canadian Medical Device Regulations, and all other international regulatory requirements with which Allergan complies.
