We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join the APEX Enterprise organization as Senior Manager, Commercial Business Intelligence, reporting directly to the Associate Director, Commercial Business Intelligence. In this role, you will serve as a product leader responsible for defining, delivering, and driving adoption of business intelligence capabilities that enable data-driven decision making across AbbVie’s U.S. Commercial organization.
You will partner closely with stakeholders across APEX, Business Technology Solutions, Brand Marketing, Finance, Field Operations, Patient Services, and Commercial Leadership to develop scalable business intelligence products, KPI frameworks, dashboards, and reporting solutions that deliver measurable business value. This role requires a strong product management mindset, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable BI capabilities.
As a senior individual contributor, you will lead through influence, driving strategy and execution across highly matrixed teams while helping advance AbbVie’s next generation of business intelligence capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the product strategy, roadmap, and delivery for assigned Commercial Business Intelligence products, dashboards, scorecards, and reporting capabilities.
- Partner with Commercial, Finance, Marketing, Field Operations, Patient Services, and APEX stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
- Develop and maintain business intelligence roadmaps that align business priorities with enterprise data and analytics strategies.
- Lead cross-functional BI initiatives from concept through deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Manage and prioritize business intelligence product backlogs, enhancement requests, release plans, and stakeholder requirements.
- Define, document, and standardize KPI and metric frameworks that promote consistency and trust across Commercial reporting assets.
- Collaborate with APEX Enterprise, Business Technology Solutions, and data management teams to ensure BI solutions are scalable, governed, secure, and aligned with enterprise data standards.
- Drive adoption of Business Intelligence products through stakeholder engagement, training, documentation, and change management activities.
- Facilitate alignment among stakeholders on competing priorities, business requirements, success measures, and investment decisions.
- Identify opportunities to simplify reporting processes, reduce duplication, automate manual reporting activities, and improve user experience.
- Support the evolution of self-service analytics through reusable metrics, semantic models, standardized reporting frameworks, and enterprise BI best practices.
- Partner with technology and data teams to improve platform performance, data quality, usability, and scalability of business intelligence assets.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging BI, AI, and analytics technologies that can drive increased business value and improved decision-making.
- Communicate product strategy, roadmap progress, risks, opportunities, and business value realization to leadership stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, computer science, information systems, engineering, data science, business analytics, finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 7+ years of professional experience in business intelligence, analytics, data products, reporting, consulting, or related fields.
- Experience operating as a product owner, product manager, business intelligence lead, analytics lead, or similar strategic role.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders across matrixed organizations.
- Strong understanding of business intelligence, reporting, KPI development, dashboard design, and analytics best practices.
- Experience translating business requirements into data, reporting, and technology solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strategic perspective.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to define requirements, build consensus, and drive adoption.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making without direct authority.
- Experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, or other highly regulated industries preferred.
Technical Qualifications:
- Strong experience with Power BI or comparable enterprise business intelligence and visualization platforms.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale enterprise datasets.
- Familiarity with semantic modeling, metric frameworks, data modeling, and self-service analytics capabilities.
- Experience working with cloud-based analytics environments such as Snowflake or other modern data platforms.
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, privacy, and compliance principles.
- Experience partnering effectively with technical, analytics, and business teams to deliver enterprise-scale reporting solutions.
- Familiarity with automation, AI-enabled reporting, natural language querying, or advanced analytics capabilities preferred.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. Pay Range: $
124500 - 236500 USD
Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
