Job Description

As a Senior IT Compliance Manager in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to co-create compliant technological solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.

The Senior IT Compliance Manager provides guidance and direction to various areas within US Commercial BTS, ensuring compliance with policies, processes, and procedures. This position is responsible for developing strategies and implementing improvement programs related to BTS compliance. The Senior IT Compliance Manager leads compliance efforts across multiple projects and client areas. The ideal candidate for this role should have a strong background in IT compliance, including knowledge of IT risk management, cybersecurity, business continuity, quality, internal audit, third-party risk management, and data privacy. They should possess excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

  • Ensuring adherence with all relevant BTS policies, regulations, corporate standards, system development procedures and practices.
  • Interpreting and communicating systems compliance requirements, regulations, procedures across the US BTS Commercial functions.
  • Leading compliance activities across multiple projects and client areas.
  • Partnering with various business stakeholders, technology leads, external agencies, and partners.
  • Operating as the subject matter expert and point person for US Commercial BTS on compliance topics, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Enforcing and advocating secure, safe, compliant development protocols and supporting the deployment of secure systems and solutions.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives based on operational performance monitoring, audits, and leading industry best practices.
  • Cultivating a team environment that values strategic thinking, proactive risk management, and continuous learning.
  • Driving continuous training and awareness sessions to promote understanding and adherence to policies, procedures, and industry standards.

Qualifications

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years' experience; Master’s Degree with 7 years' experience; PhD with 3 years' experience. 
  • 8+ years of experience in compliance, supplier management, quality assurance, risk management or related business function.
  • 2+ years of supervisory and managerial experience, preferably in a Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical or medical device organization.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing senior internal business and functional leaders.
  • Proven expertise in compliance strategy development, risk management, assessing, and mitigating compliance and cybersecurity risks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
