Purpose
Describe the primary goals, objectives or functions or outputs of this position.
As a member of the Foodservice Team it is your responsibility to be a good team member and take initiative to assist others as need to insure we provide excellent guest service.
Responsibilities
List up to 10 main responsibilities for the job. Include information about the accountability and scope.
- Directly responsible for creating unique experiences by actively participating in the planning and production of catered functions.
Responsible for all administrative tasks. To include updating and approving orders, billing invoices, responding to customer inquiries, and meeting with guests to plan and quote events. Create menus, offering expert advice on event logistics, and coordinating with movers and housekeeping for event success.
Lead the catering team by training, coaching and assigning work. Ensure catering orders for events are accurate and delivered on time. Based on daily volume of work, expected to work on the floor with the team.
Responsible for supervising and participating in the preparation; cooking and presentation of food items for catering events. Role ensures food is prepared safely, efficiently, and meets standards.
Build strong communication with the culinary teams to ensure order accuracy and guest expectations are met.
Responsible for ordering from broadline purveyor; food and beverage supplies, bakery items, florist orders, linens, tables, chairs, plates and special equipment from preferred vendors.
Ensure that all safety and sanitation guidelines per the Health Department are followed; along with local state, and Abbvie safety requirements.
Able to stand for extended periods, lift fifty (50) pounds. Load and unload catering vehicles with food, supplies, and equipment for events in all weather conditions.
Position requires flexibility, including the ability to work overtime based on catering business needs.
Qualifications
List required and preferred qualifications (up to 10). Include education, skills and experience.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years catering experience. Sanitation certificate preferred but not required.
- Self-motivated, excellent communication skills with proven track record in providing excellent guest service.
- Must be able to follow verbal instructions, written recipes and instructions for menu items.
- Knowledge of the Foodservice menu system, of the GFS ordering system and the ability to order using the GFS computer ordering system.
- Event planning and organizing with vendors and staff and guest.
- Proactive team player, flexible with strong organizational skills.
- General knowledge of all types of foodservice equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to adapt to change in a positive manner; willing to work in any other job duties that may be assigned.
- Excellent work and attendance record.
- Overtime required, flexible work schedule at times.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
