Job Description

We are currently looking for a versatile, hands-on, and accurate finance professional to join our Finance team as Senior Finance Analyst!

Your role at AbbVie

The Senior Finance Analyst is the leader and owner of the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) cycles within the Adriatic and Hungary Commercial affiliate. In this role you are responsible for the planning, consolidation, validation, chasing and challenging of all input required for the various FP&A cycles.

You have main responsibility to design, improve and maintain local infrastructure relating to FP&A systems and reports. Besides overall FP&A process owner, you are responsible for planning all P&L elements and detailed headcount planning.

To further deepen your understanding of the business you will also be partnering with brand’s business unit management. You provide pro-active support including financial modelling, expense forecasting and brand specific reports. You act as Finance business partner for several departments by monitoring and advising on departmental expense planning.

You have day to day engagement with the Commercial Finance Manager, Business Finance Partners, Finance Director, Controller, Commercial Directors. Other key internal stakeholders and partners are: Region Finance team in Paris, General Manager and Medical Director.

Your responsibilities:

  • Owner of the overall financial planning and analysis processes
    • Consolidation of input from multiple stakeholders into S&OP deck, LBE, PLN, UPD, LRP submissions
    • Lead improvement projects related to financial systems and processes. Especially new planning and reporting systems for sales, cost of sales, expenses and detailed reporting.
    • Consolidate financial data and manage data loads into regional/global financial systems such as BPC(APT)
    • Prepare and submit necessary month-end financial reports to Area finance teams, ensuring reasonable submissions with well-supported documentation and clearly written commentary
    • Owner of local reports (Excel, Power BI, Think cell etc.) used across various business units
    • Coordinating the preparation of the S&OP deck, collecting input from various business units and preparing overall slides
    • P&L forecast and reporting – responsible for forecasting and reporting of P&L lines such as Sales, SG&A, R&D, Distribution, Standard cost, TCGM, Royalties etc.
    • Cost control leadership by making proposals, identifying gaps within expense forecasting
    • Effectively communicate results (including proper variance analysis and commentary) to internal and external customers
    • Managing and making stakeholders aware of deadlines
    • Liaison with (senior) management to develop and simplify all internal reporting processes
    • Liaison with Market Access department to determine impact of market access driven scenarios across multiple products
  • Business partner for non-EU countries by taking full ownership from a finance perspective, including financial planning in close cooperation with business unit management, product-specific reports and other pro-active and requested analysis based on in-market data
  • Detailed planning of headcount for annual planning cycles such as PLN, LRP, UPD including reconciliation of Org charts (in cooperation with HR team) and reporting on actual headcount
  • Business partner for several departments including medical, supporting with all finance related topics including expense forecasting & analysis
  • Process or verify Sales Adjustment Calculations (Credit/Debit Notes, FOC deliveries, Clawback Invoices, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master, or Bachelor Degree in Finance;
  • Approximately 3-5 years working experience in FP&A
  • Proven experience with financial modeling: translating business cases and scenarios into financial modeling, top to bottom P&L line.
  • Track record of using initiative, drive and questioning to improve the performance of professional teams
  • Solid experience in Pharma specialty / biotech company is a plus.
  • Ability to translate complex market dynamics into a simple story and clear executive explanation for upper management
  • Accuracy & laser focus attention to detail is absolutely essential for the success of the role
  • Willingness to learn new concepts and ways of working (growth mindset)
  • Excellent communication skills and able to build effective working relations with both the commercial as well as finance colleagues, locally and internationally
  • Ability to prioritize and work to tight deadlines
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerBI. BPC experience is a plus.
  • Languages: Croatian and English
