Job Description

Responsible for leading the Global Voice, Data Networks, Border Security and video conferencing team for North America and LATAM working a follow the sun model with the JAPAC and EMEA operations leads ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency of the infrastructure for the company globally. Works with Border security, networking, voice and video infrastructure engineering teams to ensure smooth technology transitions from engineering to operational status. Uses available monitoring tools to find problems and problem trends and drive appropriate infrastructure teams to remediate. 

Responsibilities

• Leads MIM calls from an infrastructure ops perspective and ensures all needed infrastructure resources are on the call and working together to resolve the issue

• Provides daily updates to other regional operations leads to ensure a smooth hand off between time zones

• Ensures the CMDB and DCD are up to date and accurate

• Oversees the MSP from networking, voice and video perspectives ensuring they deliver on all of their contractual obligations to keep the infrastructure functioning at the highest level in order to keep the business running smoothly.

• Understands and complies with organization's vision, goals and strategies.

• Aligns teams priorities appropriately and determines teams critical success factors. Accountable for actions taken by itself and subordinates.

• Establish and maintain high quality relationships with all levels within the organization. Understands clients’ business needs and requirements.

• Works with Global and Business IT teams, Managed service partners and Global peers to assure that changes, requests and incidents to the network infrastructure at the Global level are achieved following BTS Infrastructure services policies and standards.

• Responsible for assuring that issues and requests assigned to the network operations team are resolved and completed in an appropriate and timely manner as established in the BTS Infrastructure Services organization metrics

• May negotiate, secure, oversee and ensure that resources are available to meet the daily operational demands of the area.

• Responsible for managing inventory management and accuracy of global network assets as per Finance and BTS standards and policies.

• Looks for opportunities for process efficiency and reporting improvements that align with holistic network environment visibility and monitoring, partnering with key stakeholders to develop and deliver on those opportunities.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 5 years’ experience; PhD with 0 years’ experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience as an operations lead overseeing a global network, voice or video infrastructure at a large company >20,000 employees with offices around the world
  • Experience leading an infrastructure team
  • Experience managing a Managed Service Provider
  • Consistently deliver projects in a timely manner. Perform routine and complex tasks competently and independently and generate reliable and consistent results.
  • Effectively organize and present project objectives and progress.
  • ServiceNOW, Excel, & Visio
