The DevOps Sr Engineer is a hands-on technical lead in the Digital Solutions & Services (DSS) Architecture and Engineering team and is responsible for leading all DevOps related design and development activities for AbbVie’s US Commercial digital platforms. This role will lead and support AbbVie’s digital marketing programs, specifically focused on dependent DevOps & DevSecOps related automation capabilities for Web technology stack but also extending expertise for other digital channels (mobile apps, interactive sales aids etc.) on project need basis.   

This role will work closely with application engineering and delivery leads and external digital/creative agencies and partners. The individual will operate as the DevOps subject matter expert and will be the point person for all automation and DevOps capabilities and solutions within DSS.   

In this role you will be responsible for:  

• Leading the current DSS DevOps team while serving as the DevOps and DevSecOps subject matter expert within DSS.  
• Maintaining and enhancing all current CI/CD pipelines, automation capabilities and related platforms powering DSS Engineering and Operations team.  
• Identifying opportunities and provide solutions and implementation plans to automate and further strengthen Security and Quality of applications and platforms developed and maintained within DSS Engineering group.   
• Maintaining architecture diagrams, roadmaps and standards for all DevOps solutions and provide documented standards and governance for future DevOps build work to offshore DevOps teams.
• Providing hands-on, expert-level assistance to developers and operations team while rolling out new automation capabilities.  
• Conducting code reviews for DevOps offshore teams for ongoing projects to ensure that code quality is at the highest level possible and appropriate design patterns are being used.   
• Providing detailed development estimates and leading solution design and development activities.   
• Responsible for compliance with applicable AbbVie Policies and procedures.  
• Working with minimal oversight; deliverables and relationships that are monitored through periodic reviews.  
• Significant Work Activities -Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day).

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role: 

Required:  

• Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 5 years’ experience; or PhD with 0 years’ experience .  
• 5+ years of technology experience in a digital marketing organization with hands-on experience leading, developing, and architecting DevOps and DevSec Ops capabilities.  
• Passion for automation, learning and experimenting with newer tools and technologies and a mindset to accept and solve technological challenges by integrating tools and platforms.  
• Hands-on experience with modern DevOps and DevSecOps technologies and tool set with specific focus on – Azure DevOps stack and covering all aspects of application development related automation around CI/CD pipelines with custom tasks and stages for activities like application build process automation using various frameworks like Maven, Gulp, Yarn, Node, etc., Static Code Analysis, and Quality gating using Sonar and deployment using CURL or REST APIs.  
• Hands-on on expertise with tools and platforms integrations for scalable automation pipelines specifically – Azure, Bitbucket, JIRA (overall Atlassian suite), Sonar, Splunk, PowerBI, and Test Automation frameworks.  
• Hands on expertise with programming languages like JAVA and scripting using YML, Power S hell, and Batch .  
• Hands on expertise with Linux OS and familiarity with AWS ecosystem specifically EC2.  
• Hands-on experience in using diagramming tools for architecture and solution documentation like Lucidchart, Visio, or Confluence.  
• Hands on experience with enterprise level software development practices comprising of large development teams using CI/CD tools, Code versioning systems like GIT, multiple product releases through framework like Gitflow, Sonar based code reviews & Agile Sprint based project management model using JIRA.  
• Strong IT analysis, critical thinking, creative problem solving, and analytical skills.
