The Senior Counsel, Legal Strategy, will be responsible for identifying, developing and executing key legal strategies to advance company priorities. The individual in this role will leverage industry experience and innovative thinking while partnering with both internal subject matter experts and external resources to drive creative solutions to complex challenges. The role will primarily be focused on shaping and supporting efforts in the dynamic, rapidly growing 340B pricing space and related legal, regulatory and policy issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies to navigate and/or shape the external environment and advance company objectives.
- Determine prioritization, timeline and resourcing needs for strategic initaitives and gain internal alignment.
- Drive cross-functional team execution and progress.
- Develop lines of communication with internal subject matter experts and key business counterparts to inform strategic initiatives and help build cohesive AbbVie strategies.
- Advise business team on key day-to-day 340B compliance and program integrity issues.
- Support the development and implementation of strategies, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with 340B program requirements and navigate disputes and audits.
Required:
- JD with active State Bar membership, in good standing.
- 7+ years of experience with a focus on life sciences and/or pharmaceutical industry.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, leadership, and influence skills.
- Candidate must enjoy solving complex and dynamic problems and have an interest in helping to proactively shape the external environment.
- Demonstrated experience with high-visibility, high-impact projects.
- Adept at coordinating and facilitating cross-functional efforts and gaining alignment from internal and external stakeholders.
Recommended:
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in matrixed environments.
- Experience in covering an array of topic areas and adapting to new subject matter/ arenas rapidly and effectively.
- While substantive 340B expertise is valued, a preferred candidate is one who wants develop professionally by learning about new subject matters and thinking strategically.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
