Overview:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the general accounting and proper taxation of the Hungarian affiliate’s activities with special focus on Statutory and Statistical Reports, Fixed assets, ICBs, vendor and customer invoices.
Main responsibilities:
- General ledger accounting in compliance with both local (Hungarian) Accounting regulation and standards & USGAAP reporting
- Statutory Reporting (Financial Statements, Statistical reports and other secondary reporting in cooperation with AbbVie shared service and external consultants
- TAX compliance
- Administration of Intercompany billings
- Fixed asset accounting (capitalization, write off)
- Supervising of vendor Invoice registration, processing in SAP and archiving
- Corporate document handling
- Administration of travel expenses
Tasks:
- Key contributor of General ledger accounting at affiliate level
- Participation in the fiscal period close processes, yearly statutory financial and tax reporting (including coordination of 3rd party service providers)
- In co-operation with AbbVie Shared Service Center process journal entries as appropriate during quarterly closing.
- Process and co-ordinate tax calculations and filing
- Ensure registration, coding and/or approval on a timely basis all incoming Accounts Payable documents ensuring correct coding of vendor, cost center, GL account, invoice amount etc.
- Process fixed assets additions and retirees
- Perform fixed assets physical inventory process.
- Prepare information reports (e.g. NHF, National Bank, Statistics Bureau etc.)
- Accounting support for payroll process
- University or college degree in Economics / Business / Finance /Accounting
- Accountant qualification in Hungary
- Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience at a multinational company
- Pharmaceutical industry experience is an advantage
- Self-starter attitude, perseverance, ability to work with virtual teams (SSC)
- Strong computer literacy and SAP experience
- Strong English knowledge
- Fluent local language (Hungarian)
