Job Description

Technical expert that will drive late-stage process development activities of novel antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).  Independently identify, develop, and execute laboratory experiments to address critical project needs.  Continuously seek to improve existing laboratory methods and processes.  Read and adapt literature to accomplish assignments.  Demonstrate mastery of a broad range of experimental techniques and methods of data analysis.  Collaborate effectively with cross-functional groups ensure robust process scale-up and tech transfer to manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently design, execute, and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions to ensure phase appropriate, data driven execution of development activities.  Understand the broad objectives of the project as well as their role in achieving those objectives, and modify experimental plan when required, to respond.
  • Set and meet experimental and project timelines in accordance with CMC strategy.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, including analytical chemists, process chemists, and manufacturing personnel.
  • Impact projects mostly through lab and/or pilot plant based activities where applicable.  Support technical transfer and scale-up of laboratory process knowledge to manufacturing sites.
  • Learn, understand, innovate, and master new experimental techniques, and act as a subject matter expert or mentor for others.
  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in his/her field.
  • Effectively organize and present scientific plans and data to a broad audience and technical leadership.
  • Contribute to writing and conceptual framework of publications, presentations, patents, and regulatory filings.
  • Routinely read and apply relevant scientific literature.

Qualifications

  • BS or equivalent education with typically 7 or more years of experience or MS or equivalent education with typically 5 or more years of experience in fields of chemistry or chemical engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in process development and technology transfer.  Experience in pharmaceutical development with small molecules or downstream biologics purification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, understand and master new technical disciplines and experimental techniques.
  • Ability to multitask and work within timelines in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated scientific writing skills and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in design-of-experiments (DoE), quality-by-design (QbD), and development of statistical and mathematical models is strongly preferred.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
