Job Description

Unleash your potential — become part of our laboratory team at PDS&T DPA!

For the Product Development Science and Technology, Drug Product Analytical (PDS&T DPA) department, we are looking for a committed and analytically minded individual as a Laboratory Employee (all genders). As part of the laboratory team, you will actively contribute to the development, validation, transfer, and establishment of a wide range of physicochemical analytical methods for process development and independently evaluate the analytical data collected. You can expect an initial 24-month fixed-term position in a dynamic environment that combines excellent research with practical application.

What you could contribute here

  • Immerse yourself in the exciting world of biologics analytics and independently plan and carry out tests for the development, establishment, validation, and transfer of physicochemical methods for the quality control unit.
  • Assess the suitability of existing methods and optimize innovative electrophoretic and chromatographic methods using CDS Empower software.
  • Apply analytical methods such as HPLC and CE, as well as common pharmacopoeial methods (pH, color determination, protein content, and subvisible particles) as part of process development.
  • Prepare meaningful laboratory reports in English, which also serve as essential source documents for regulatory submissions.
  • Actively contribute to scientific and digitalization initiatives in close exchange with international teams, especially from Europe and the USA.

Qualifications

  • Completed scientific/technical training, e.g. laboratory technician, technician, CTA, with several years of professional experience, or a university degree in a scientific field (diploma, bachelor’s, or master’s) in a relevant area. Professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent qualifications are an advantage.
  • Familiarity with electrophoretic or chromatographic analytical techniques (e.g. CE/icIEF/excipient determination such as polysorbate), ideally using CDS Empower.
  • Interest in developing and optimizing new analytical techniques, e.g. using Design of Experiment (DoE) or Quality by Design (QbD); initial experience with method validation/transfer is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of classical pharmacopoeial methods and experience with analytical methods for AAVs, e.g. DLS, as well as synthetic peptides, is desirable.
  • Careful working style in performing test methods, data interpretation, documentation, and report writing; prior experience in a regulated environment is beneficial.
  • Interest in digitalizing workflows, e.g. through the use of AI.
  • Team spirit and excellent communication skills in a global context in German and English, to effectively build cross-functional relationships.

Our contribution to you:

  • A varied role in which you can truly make an impact
  • An open corporate culture
  • Attractive compensation
  • A great team that supports you in every way and provides guidance, including intensive onboarding by a mentor
  • Flexible working hours to ensure a healthy work-life balance
  • Occupational health management with comprehensive health and sports programs
  • Company social benefits
  • Diverse career opportunities in an internationally oriented company
