Provide functional and strategic leadership for the development of the AbbVie Global Packaging Sustainability Program. Ensure that the company’s sustainability effort enhances business performance and supports long-term priorities and goals of the company. Responsible for implementation and management of global packaging sustainability strategies and objectives of the AbbVie Global Packaging Sustainability Program, Manages program activities and goals. Drives results through activities of others. Provides leadership and strategic direction. Leads activities in value improvement, environmental awareness, and the development of packaging professionals’ sustainability knowledge and awareness while developing, leading, and coordinating packaging sustainability program.
Responsibilities:
•Set and lead Global Packaging Sustainability program strategy including stage and gate meetings, timelines to meet program objectives
•Works with Senior Management in the development and execution of the packaging sustainability program.
•Ensure consistency and compliance across all aspects of sustainability initiatives
•Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on sustainability initiatives/projects.
•Responsible for compliance with applicable Policies and procedures.
•Provide leadership and centralized management for the planning and development and execution of global Sustainability projects to achieve key strategic business objectives. Understand the business needs and has a thorough knowledge of customer strategic needs.
•Fosters an environment of innovation and exchange of ideas. Integrates experiences and approaches from multiple projects / disciplines to develop the best solution in the total business context.
•Responsible for the development, execution, implementation, and coordination of global packaging related sustainability activities that ensure progress towards AbbVie’s sustainability priorities and related goals. Responsible for establishing and managing long-range business plans which anticipate global trends in sustainability for packaging
•Form and lead internal Packaging Sustainability CoP (Community of Practices) that will drive global / regional implementation of program.
•Build shared vision and common goals across teams and strong relationships within and outside of AbbVie. Represent and communicate Packaging’s role in all Sustainability initiatives. Effectively manage long-term relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

•A bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or closely related discipline is desired, or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence, with a desired 8+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience. Master’s Degree preferred and may contribute towards the desired years of experience. Has demonstrated competency within a discipline.
•Knowledge of the environmental and social standards impacting the pharmaceutical industry.
•Possesses a strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures. Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data involves multiple competing factors. Exercises judgment and advises management as to the appropriate actions.
•Interacts well with diverse groups within engineering and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
•Listens to and understands others' points of view and articulates tactfully and respectfully one's own perspective orally, in writing, and in presentations.
•A career history marked by a consistent series of significant contributions and accomplishments. Demonstrated and been recognized for excellence in breadth and depth of knowledge in global project management.
•Interacts well with diverse groups across corporation and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators. Listens to and understands others' points of view and articulates thoughtfully and respectfully one's own perspective orally, in writing, and in presentations.
•Possesses interpersonal skills to negotiate and reconcile differences, while optimizing overall organizational goals.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
