As a Senior API Engineer in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.
In this role you’ll be responsible for:
- Leverage your extensive AWS expertise to implement state-of-the-art platform automations and API technologies using cloud native offerings.
- Collaborate across teams and serve as a thought leader to modernize API platform practices enabling global, highly available solutions using native AWS technical enablers.
- Provide architecture, security, and technical guidance to accelerate serverless and infrastructure as code practices.
- Develop a deep understanding of business drivers to foresee organizational needs and plan solutions addressing these needs.
Tools and skills you will use in this role:
- DevOps using AWS native tooling (CodePipeline & CodeBuild).
- Knowledge of networking and AWS cloud connectivity.
- Infrastructure automation using CloudFormation and other AWS native tools.
- Experience designing API contracts and API First development.
- Ability to work with teams to create engineering approaches, prioritize activities, and lead teams from project conception through delivery.
- Author API strategy roadmaps and align execution across multiple agile teams.
Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree with 9 years’ experience; Master's Degree with 8 years’ experience; PhD with 4 years’ experience.
- A minimum of two years leading AWS native development and DevOps for a large, highly regulated firm.
- Extensive experience providing digital capabilities using native AWS technologies.
- Prior API design experience serving global eCommerce enablement.
- Advanced expertise with Java, TypeScript, or other common development languages.
- Completed testing as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or other AWS certifications.
