For the AIMS (Analytical Innovation & Mass Spectrometry) Team in the NBE Analytical R&D Department at AbbVie’s Ludwigshafen site in Germany, we are seeking an enthusiastic scientist to conduct hands-on in‑depth characterization of ATMP (advanced therapeutic medicinal products (e.g. rAAV, LNPs) as well as biotherapeutic proteins. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced scientist with a strong background in mass spectrometry (proteomics) and deeper understanding of automated protein and viral capsid characterization.
We are seeking for a Postdoc (all genders) Higher order structure of protein complexes ( 2 years temporary / fulltime) for the AIMS (Analytical Innovation & Mass Spectrometry) Team in the NBE Analytical R&D Department in Ludwigshafen, Germany.
This means:
- Your tasks will be in protein characterization and mass spectrometry
- Provision of scientific expertise and engagement in cross-functional teams within AbbVie.
This is how you can make a difference:
- You hold a PhD degree in chemistry, (structural) biology or related field
- You have extensive knowledge in protein characterization and mass spectrometry
- Experience in the field of MS-based structural characterization techniques (e.g. HDX-MS, DEPC-labelling, FPOP, etc.) is a plus
- During your scientific career you have built strong expertise and hands-on experience in the characterization of large protein complexes
- You like to drive scientific initiatives as well as to shape the analytical strategy in the gene therapy landscape
- As a highly motivated, self-driven and results-oriented person with excellent communication and presentation skills you are driven by innovative ways of thinking to improve processes, methods, systems, products or services.
- You are well known to be an excellent team player with the ability to build strong networks with peers who has a strong desire for the application of new techniques and innovative solutions.
- As a global acting company we presume excellent communication skills, including written and oral English and basic knowledge of German.
