We have an opportunity for a Pharmacy Marketing Contracting GPO Manager to join our Customer Excellence team. In alignment with our corporate strategies, the Pharmacy Marketing Contracting GPO Manager is responsible for developing communication and marketing strategies for pharmacies, pharmacy chains and banners. This position is based in Montreal (Saint-Laurent) and reports to the Senior Manager Pharmacy Marketing.
Key responsibilities:
- Contribute to the growth of the business by developing communication and strategic plans for pharmacies, pharmacy chains and banners.
- As a core member of several brand teams, ensure that all pharmacists are well informed about AbbVie products.
- In collaboration with AbbVie Care, Commercial and the Senior Trade Relations Manager, develop the distribution strategy for all new indications/assets.
- Coordination and execution of pharmacy advisory board meetings for insight gathering.
- Act as the “Strategic Expert” and “Subject Matter Expert” relating to pharmacy within the brand team environment.
- Develop and coordinate educational programs to help pharmacists keeps their clinical knowledge and competencies current and up to date.
- Lead and develop the educational strategies in line with the brand plan process.
- Align initiatives and educational programs with external stakeholders’ needs.
- Collaborate with pharmacy chains and banners to optimize the program execution.
- Collaborate with AbbVie Care for adherence strategy development, disease management programs and other market growth initiatives for all AbbVie pharmaceutical portfolio.
- Develop hospital/buying group pricing strategy for all core brands.
- Track and monitor hospital/buying group requests for proposals (RFP).
- Provide pricing recommendations to commercial and Senior Management.
- Manage RFP process including internal approval process.
- Communicate findings, results and trend analyses to brand teams.
Education / Experience required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology or Bachelor’s degree in Commerce. Being a Registered Pharmacist would be considered a great asset.
- Previous business experience with proven knowledge, in relevant roles requiring comprehensive understanding of the biotech/pharmaceutical industry (minimum of five to eight years) including:
- Relevant business experience with proven track record of success within biotech/pharmaceutical industry in a similar role (minimum of three years)
- Experience in pharmaceutical sales (minimum of three years).
- Proven track record in marketing, account management, Continuous Health Education, Pharmacy Trade and Healthcare environment will be considered important.
Essential skills and abilities:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
- Must be at ease with technology (the use of various tools/systems to perform day-to-day tasks).
- Ability to think strategically (work plans, activities, timetables, targeting and operating with execution excellence.
- Travel required about 20 % of the time.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
