We are currently sourcing an Operations Product Leader (OPL) to join our Transformation team.
In this role, you will drive transformational performance and value for key Commercial Products via cross-functional alignment within Operations, and collaboration with external functions.
The OPL will achieve this alignment by leading Operations functional representatives on the Operations Product Team (OPT), to drive Operations strategy and execution for key Commercial Products. The OPL will provide connectivity and drive product performance by identifying significant opportunities to drive value and provide strategic focus for critical activities. In collaboration with the OPT and functional partners, the OPL will define Commercial Product Operations goals, strategy and drive execution.
The OPL will sit on the relevant commercial product Asset Strategy Team(s) (AST) and provide a key point of contact across Operations to external functions for their Commercial Product(s). This OPL role will sit in the Ops Transformation organization and report to the VP, Operations Product Leader.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Ops Product Strategy Development: Develop enterprise view of business needs across a key strategic Commercial Product, in close partnership with Ops functions and external partners as applicable, to determine current and future significant opportunities to drive value.
Product Representation: Accountable to Ops SLT at Governance Meetings for the Product, and accountable to represent the Ops function/Ops Product Team at cross-functional governances to ELT (e.g., at LMG, CFG). - Continuously adopt a holistic approach across Ops to drive value, including consideration of drug substance, drug product, device, presentation, and packaging opportunities. Consider both significant opportunities and pain points for the Product across manufacturing, technical, quality, cost, and distribution perspectives, and solve for success.
- Drive Execution: Partner with team members, functions, Ops and other leaders to remove barriers and obstacles to enable current and future OPT success. Enable rapid, informed decision-making, drive team deliverables. Provide timely, coordinated and appropriate communication for issue escalation and, in partnership with the OPT, develop a clear path to resolution. Drive timely and impactful OPT deliverables.
- Coaching and Professional Development: Provide coaching and leadership development to OPT members, enhancing effectiveness in decision-making and leading cross-functionally; identify opportunities to raise the bar as a team and advance technical/business acumen.
Stakeholder Relationships: Provide strategic guidance and leadership to OPT members and establish/maintain strong, collaborative relationships with Ops SLT, functional VPs, and key external functional partners. - Stakeholder relationships: Provide strategic guidance and leadership to OPT members and establish / maintain strong, collaborative, relationships with Operations SLT, functional VPs and key external functional partners.
•Financial: Develop aligned Ops estimates for Product improvements/changes and provide LRP/Plan Inputs to guide strategic decision making where appropriate - Team Leadership: Create an innovative culture on the OPT to stay ahead of the curve and enable development of plans with cross-functional teams to both anticipate and proactively develop plans to mitigate potential Commercial Product challenges, as well as champion Commercial Product expansions and LCM opportunities. Develop, continually improve, and track KPIs to drive future team and product performance improvements.
- Ensure successful project timeline execution across programs, and advance Commercial Product objectives. The OPL will provide key Commercial Product-related updates, with OPT members as appropriate to SLT and governance as needed. The OPL will quickly grasp technical, equipment, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, COGS, supply, and other relevant issues and help the OPT solve for rapid resolution, and will develop “Art of Possible” timelines to support timely product opportunities.
- Continuous Improvement of Product Support Model
Ops Product Team Excellence: Develop ways of working for the Ops Product Team that are innovative and best in class to deliver best practice performance. Coach and mentor team members, ensure the team develops and maintains a “high performing team” mindset, with focused support for the assigned Commercial Product(s). - Competitive Intelligence: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the global landscape, disease area, and regulatory pathways for the assigned brand(s), ensuring the most efficient pathways are selected and creative, innovative approaches are considered.
- You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Mgmt, or related field. Advanced degree is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical product development/launch/management, operations management, product development, or related business or operations function.
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence across the organization, supplemented by robust soft skills. Excellent capabilities in stakeholder management, adept at aligning product strategies with business needs and fostering strategic relationships
- Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities, complemented by collaboration, facilitative leadership, executive function, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to anticipate future needs and develop effective solutions.
- Experience in strategic and technical problem-solving to support product strategy and improvement, with the ability to exercise objective judgment and create pragmatic solutions for complex cross-functional challenges. Accountable for obtaining stakeholder advice to make informed decisions and advance program objectives.
- Ability to assimilate new knowledge rapidly and apply that to drive opportunities for Operations Commercial Products.
- Demonstrated successful experience effectively managing cross-functional product teams and aligning resources with strategic priorities.
- Ability to mentor and develop OPT members, enhancing cross-functional collaboration and effectiveness.
- Ability and willingness to respectfully challenge team members and functions, effectively manage conflict, to assess and communicate fully all opportunities, options, risks, and mitigations

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
