Job Description

Join AbbVie as a Operations Manufacturing Leader, you will be at the forefront of optimizing our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will have the opportunity to set and direct operational and financial goals for the assigned area, ensuring maximum performance levels and aligning with our site's business strategies. As a Operations Manufacturing Leader, you will be responsible for troubleshooting manufacturing issues, providing technical guidance, and optimizing processes. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring that our staff is equipped with the necessary knowledge and training to efficiently produce the highest quality products. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to define action plans, timelines, and budgets for project and product goals. This position is based at our Branchburg Manufacturing site, which specializes in AlloDerm and Strattice.

Responsibilities: 

  • Set, direct and control all operational and financial goals, budget and objectives for the manufacturing area assigned; manages spend up to $20MM.

  • Track and trend performance levels and maximize the operations.

  • Drive and lead the manufacturing area to meet the site business strategies; accountable for operating expenses, payroll and capital expenditures for manufacturing area projects and programs.

  • Recommend and implement business strategies to reduce costs, actively contribute to efforts that adapt and transform the organization to meet changing business needs.

  • Assist teams in troubleshooting manufacturing issues; provide technical guidance and direction to cross-functional partners to optimize processes. Ensure staff is provided technical knowledge and training to efficiently produce the highest quality products.

  • Collaborate with peers and cross-functional partners to define action plans, timelines and budgets for project and product goals.

  • Develop and manage staff through hiring, managing performance, developing talent and providing clear expectations.

  • Ensure all labor and equipment performance measures are met. Responsible for completing established goals, prioritizing project work and controlling and coordinating all activities and improvement efforts across manufacturing areas.

  • Manage the employee relations climate to ensure that our AbbVie Way is realized and an environment exists where all employees have the opportunity to develop to their maximum potential.

  • Coach the managers and supervisors in the area and establish clear expectations with them and all employees regarding responsibilities, goals and behaviors and champion and model exceptional AbbVie performance and talent management practices.

Significant Work Activities -Continuous standing for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in a technical field: advanced degree in a technical field preferred

  • 8+years’ experience including: work as an individual contributor building technical expertise and proved project management skills.

  • Progressively increased responsibility and performance as supervisor, department manager in multiple areas of Operations (Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering etc.)

  • Business acumen coupled with functional leadership experience is required to drive high performance in a complex manufacturing operation

  • Proven track record of successfully resolving manufacturing issues and providing technical expertise.

  • Must have knowledge of GMP guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience in driving operational excellence initiatives, implementing process improvements, and optimizing manufacturing operations to achieve cost reduction and efficiency goals.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational issues

  • Experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis is essential.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software and systems to monitor and analyze production data.

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve operational goals in a manufacturing environment are necessary.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​
